The Dresden Dolls were great performers. I wasn't exactly into the lyrics, but I thought they were outstanding performers, and the audience was really into them which always makes a concert that much better. They played from 10PM until 12:15AM, with maybe a 2 minute break in during the encore. Their opening acts were pretty good too. I had permission to tape, so look for that recording in the next week as soon as Josh can get it edited for me.

Jen: I will probably have my recording of MBD shared on the hub as soon as I get the setlist worked out. They put on a fun concert. It was the second time I have gotten to see them at a tiny little club.

They have lyrics on all sorts of strange subjects such as abortion, masturbation, and more abortion.

Does seeing Hinder at MTV count as a concert?

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

No because they're not really a band. They're cheap imitations of one though.

So, Sarah Slean played Sunday night at my high school auditorium.
I had second-row tickets.
And it coincided with the one possible thing short of impending death or being-on-the-other-side-of-the-world that could make me miss it: The Shallaway (NSYC) Christmas Concert.

:cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

[ For those of you far-away, Shallaway (previously the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Choir) is a choir I belong to that take itself annoyingly seriously. For me to skip a concert (particularly of the christmas variety) would be for me to die at the hands of Susan Knight.
And by die, I mean have my membership unceremoniously revoked. There's like, a contract and everything. ]

So I sold my second-row ticket to the best concert that'll be here all year, and gave up my chance of meeting her (which probably would have happened). Sometimes I really wish I hadn't sold my soul to the choir. :(

ahhhh so the show last night. it was a freakin awesome time!!!!

the lineup: all time low, cobra starship, & cute is what we aim for. at the mod club.
all time low was pretty good, cobra starship BLEW me away. i had never heard of them, but i fell in love. and of course cute is what we aim for was wicked!!
every member of every band was just walking around...

during all time low's set, the singer kept saying how it was his birthday & he would do shots with anyone at the bar after... and so him and i did, haha.. he was like "I LOVE CANADA!!!" and i was like, why, is it your 19th? and he was like yeah... haha... he was so drunk it was amazing. just an awesome time :)

i think it's the best concert i've been to, experience-wise. not the actual show, but how much i enjoyed myself. i was happy & so was everyone else, and i discovered an awesome band.

anyways. i'll stop rambling.

alexisonfire tonight :)

I saw Cary Brothers and the Hotel cafe tour when it rolled into Houston. freaking awsome show, had JimBianco, Rachel Yamagata, Sarah Berelis, Joshua Raidin, and a few others.

it was like a 4 hour drunken sing along, non-stop, no intermissions or anything. I was in heaven. :)

Fourtycentfix - March 31st.

...and only 168 days until the warped tour starts.
