Well, if not for Man Man, the Pitchfork Music Festival would have sucked. Yo La Tengo was boring, Spoon didn't play anything from "Girls Can Tell" or "Kill the Moonlight" and I missed Jens Lekman because I was out the night before drinking with Cyrus from the Real World. Sad times.

I saw Electric Six a couple of weeks ago. For it being the 6th time that I've seen them in like 2 years it was surprisingly fresh. It was always a good time, Dick Valentine is the supreme front man in my opinion, no one does it better.

I drove to Cleveland last week to see AFI. I have to say, I am now a huuuge fan of Dillinger Escape Plan, and if anyone else here is (long shot) let me know and we'll discuss. I can't believe I haven't listened to them before. Anyway, the concert was worth it, although they played a total of 4 (yes only fucking 4!) songs that were not on Sing the Sorrow or Decemberunderground, so that was a big bummer. Still an allaround great show though.

Man, I really haven't been to a lot of concerts lately. I really want to go to the Head Automatica show in September, but it's the day before my sisters wedding so I doubt it.

i went to warped tour on saturday.

it was ridiculous that motion city went on at 12:30. i missed most of their set because i was in line over an hour. as soon as they were done, i look at the big board thing only to find out the academy is is on right then. so i run around searching for their stage, and miss 2 of their songs too. they were still good though.

i finally got to see the early november. and they played ever so sweet. which made it worth my $50. i was so happy.
i missed 30 seconds to mars because my friends are stupid.

for silverstein, nofx, billy talent, and rise against, i'm pretty sure i had the best spot there. i was on these bleacher type things near the side so ic ould hear both stages, see one of them, and i got to sit and i was nowhere near the humungous cloud of dust. except i had a HORRIBLE sunburn by the end of the day.

all in all, seeing the early november= worth it.

WELL.
they're all "ooo, we're gonna be all cool and play on the smaller stage to support the smaller bands even though we have a huge fanbase"
so it was not cool being in that crowd. people were getting hurt everywhere and passing out, and everyone was pushing to the front. yes, i know that it was like that everywhere but it wouldn't have been so bad if they had just played on the bigger stage. there were a lot of people trying to get out of the crowd because it was brutal, but you could barely move.

Just bought a ticket!

Dresden Dolls - Portland, OR - October 15.

If I could afford it I would go to their show in Seattle the night before as well, but I can't. :(

Yay for me finally being able to make it to a show where they're headlining though!

Aww thats lame for Alexis. It seems like its really easy for bands to get into their own mindset of putting on the best show they can sometimes, and they forget to be concerned with what the audiences experience is like. I've seen that happen a lot. Thats not good.

Although I'm glad you had a good time at Warped. That was amazing when I was there. : )

maybe it wasn't their choice?
i was looking at pictures of the lineups at other shows, and i was completely amazed at how the sets differed throughout the tour. it was crazy.
