Oh no, Jacqui. :( *hugs*

Kathy14 wrote:Oh Nikki this is awful *hugs* I'm having flashbacks as I read this....

We had a similar situation in my family and my uncle went through legal hell. Maybe it would have played out differently in another country or with a different insurer, I have no clue.

In our situation, the insurance company said it was past the appropriate time period for submitting claims (it was 2 years later), so they refused to pay it. The hospital said that the relationship is only between insurer and insured, and that they only submit claims as a service to patients. They are not ultimately responsible for ensuring they are received by the insurance company and paid, therefore if they made a mistake and didn't submit an invoice, it was not negligent in any way because it was not originally their responsibility. The hospital had made the original mistake but was cleared because it was deemed that their argument was correct. It was then a legal battle between my uncle and the insurer that lasted for another two years and finally ended in a settlement because it was bringing bad press to the insurance company.

hhmm... maybe this is not what you want to hear. Keep in mind this is just one example.

Yeah, that sounds pretty much exactly like what's happening.

oh Nikki, I've been thinking about you and your mom all day. *bear hugs*

I hope a chat with the lawyer proves helpful.

Oh man that sucks so bad. That is probably why mom makes me call the insurance company and make sure our claims show up every single time I go to the doctor.

Oh man so much death and sadness lately! My cousin fell snowboarding yesterday and has a compression back fracture! :(

Aww, thank you. :) *hugs back*

I'm hoping the same thing. She said that he was clearly not paying attention to what she was saying over the phone, so hopefully that's the only reason he suggested filing for bankruptcy.

:uh: Um, OUCH! Is he gonna be ok?

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

I went to the gym today to run on the treadmill. And then on my way to the locker room I saw a class starting and thought "why don't I give it a try". OMG - what was I thinking.

So it was a combined aerobics/step/strength training class for an hour. Keep in mind I already ran a few miles on the treadmill which is already a huge accomplishment & improvement for me. (Sidebar: I used to be a runner, but after my car accident years ago I wasn't able to run or work out for years. Now I'm finally back at it and continuing to make progress)

The class was really high intensity cardio along with weights, and about 15 minutes into the class I started to feel like I was going to throw up. I was looking at the door every minute trying to figure out if I could sneak away  I slowed it down a bit, was able to recover, and kept up with most of the class. Now I'm sitting on my couch and my whole body hurts, every muscle is twitching/shaking, and my stomach still feels upset.

Oy

I wonder if I'll be able to walk in the morning
