omg.
Me too! I've never heard Ours, actually. I'm going for Dredg as an impromptu decision to skip work and head to Chicago after seeing them on Taste of Chaos.

The Strokes tonight for free.
lucky!!
It was ok. I'm not a fan...I've heard their songs, and I never knew which band was the Strokes because I never bothered to pay attention. I basically went because more people need Damone stickers in Milwaukee. The light show was fantastic, though. The music didn't make my ears bleed, but I'm not about to buy the album.

Well seeing as how I haven't seen a THING about tickets to the Vermont show, I think it's safe to assume I'm not going, as it's this Saturday, and now I have to work anyway.
*mutter*
OLP really needs to work on their marketing skills because this tour EFFING SUCKS.

That's the way I like it.
Add Minus the Bear in there for this Friday.
Dredg/Ours/Ambulette was pretty damn great.

Yeah, just got back from the Ambulette/Ours/Dredg show. Only stayed for 2 songs for Dredg due to lack of interest (although the songs we heard were pretty good) and 2 finals tomorrow.
Ambulette were really good, I bought their EP and talked with the guitarist guy who was really nice (and offered up some trail mix).
Ours were, of course, amazing. They pretty much played all new stuff which was alright although classic Ours would have been a plus also. Daniel Victor from Neverending White Lights came out and did a song with them (not Our Final Hymn) which was incredibly cool. Daniel's dad was in attendance (who I recognize from when he sang with him at his Windsor show a while back).
Overall great show, although it was an incredibly short set for Ours.

I've been a dredg fan for at least 5 years, I think, so I guess they were my main attraction there. I felt old, though, once Ours finished. The front was filled with a lot of kids who acted like they'd never been to a concert before. I was very impressed with Ours live--way more than I was with their recording I heard (not sure which one, it's my friend's). Ambulette impressed the crap out of me, too. I signed up for their mailing list and got a pin, but my friend gave me the EP she'd gotten as a promo. I'm a cheap bastard.

Ben Folds and Ludacris both performed at my university's Spring Fling today! It was pretty hot. Although Ben Folds didn't play Brick, which made me really really sad.

I wish I could change when I was going to Vancouver.
The weekend I go is the weekend of Salmon fest back here, which is a yearly concert that usually brings out good bands. (Matt Good, OLP, Sam Roberts, K-OS, Nelly Furtado, Simple Plan...the usual Canadian crowd) And this year my friends were determined to go, dispite the fact that they haven't announced whos playing yet.
And then, the week after I leave there are concerts I want to see in Vancouver. I can't win.

I'M SO JEALOUS!
They played at my boyfriend's college two weekends ago and he didn't go because he doesn't like them. I was angry at him for missing that - I wanted to live vicariously through him!
