i just got called in to work today at 4
WHYYYYYYYY
did i say yes
booooo I hate it when that happens. And I never say "no" unless I have some kind of "valid" excuse, no matter how much I don't want to work.
I do that too. I've never turned down a shift unless I actually could not be there. Kind of helped me out though, when I got sick in the middle of my shift last week, and I guilted a girl into covering for me because I had covered her like 5 times.
Oh man, you guys need to learn how to say no!!! I've only gone in for one shift that I wasn't scheduled for. I neeeeeeeever go in when I don't have to.

Bill only refers to me as "sir" tongue-in-cheek. I refer to him as "Chemical Master B" and "Tenacious B", while he calls me "sir" and "M."
I've had 3 really good nights in a row at work. Surely something will just get fucked beyond all belief tonight. I can't have 4 in a row, it's just not possible.

I had to ask her about that one. She was calling me Mechanic, but failed to capitalize it to let anyone know she was just being witty and rhyming.

I fired one of my grocery stockers today. We had taken the discipline process as far as we could with him, and I had personally cut him a ton of slack, and he still didn't get it. So when I found him goofing off and playing around in an aisle other than the one he was supposed to be on, I called him on it. I got him to admit what he was doing and then told him to clock out, go home, and come back before 9AM this morning to speak to me and my boss. He came back at 4AM asking to go back to work. I explained to him why I had sent him home, and told him to come back in the morning. When he came back this morning we formally terminated his employment. I felt bad for the kid (he's only 19 or 20 and this was his first real big job), but damn he had it coming. Myself and the other stockers had warned him that he was on thin ice and not to play around. I'll chalk this one up to a lack of maturity and hope that he grows up some soon.

ahhh, but this way I'm able to take as much time off as I want for school, save for a couple of Saturdays. Reliability is a big plus when an employer looks at an employee's overall performance. In my first year at the bank, I never turned down a request for more hours/changed hours/extra shifts unless I had to.
