We'll see what people think. Hardcore fans probably won't like it, but I imagine it doing quite well.

Not anymore, I wouldn't think. But I could be wrong.

An animated video makes me a bit nervous. Don't get me wrong; I loved the video for In Repair, but which band comes back from hiding for four years with an animated video?

Since they're producing this independently, I don't see what Sony would have to do with the video.

There's a few animated videos I love... Raine's Sex Love and Honey and Radiohead's Paranoid Android, and... that's all I got for the moment.

I was thinking that, too.

I showed a friend The Right Stuff last night, and she put on the most disgusted face and asked, "THIS is Our Lady Peace?"

That's why you show your friends Naveed first, duh.

She knew of Naveed, and that's why she was so disgusted with the new stuff. We were listening to The Birdman, and we both agreed that is how music should be.

But I agree with... whoever said that in the other thread, I don't remember... it'll just annoy me having TRS as one of their well-known songs. I do think it'll catch on. Having people who describe their music tastes as "country and AC/DC" singing OLP scares me a little.

. . . there are people whose taste runs to country and ac/dc? that's a bizarre combination.

This is the same guy in my class that, when presented with the information that the BC government wanted to sterilize all of the mentally handicapped in the 1980's, asked, "What? Why? You mean boil them in hot water?"

Ignorance is bred in my small town, obviously.

He told me his favourite song is "That dance, fucker, dance one..."

But I love that song too, who am I kidding.

This is getting off-topic... sorry, everyone, I talk a LOT.

I think they are still under contract with Sony right? They just decided to self-produced the album instead of working with someone outside the band.

For single selection and music videos, though, the record label puts a lot on having a successful single and would probably have a say in the matter unless OLP are magical experts at negotiations.

my god, their last release was in 2005 (the Decade singles were recorded in HIPT sessions), and this is the first thing they give us when they return 4 years later?

Like seriously WTF, I like all four other songs they played live MUCH MORE than this one... Monkey Brains, White Flags, Dreamland and Waiting for Something.... this is totally not cool.

Damn, I gave a couple of my friends some OLP music the other month (Naveed right through HIPT) and now they've been askin me to make sure to lead them to OLP's new single when it's released.... maybe I should work on my falsetto and just record some music myself and give that to them? Or even better just give them Trapeze and say it's new?

Wow, the video might be pretty good (the song's going to be a different story, but anyway...). It kind of reminded me of a comic book, but it also had 3D aspects to it.

They are not under contract to Sony. Sony will be the distributor of the album, according to some interviews with Raine back in early Spring.

I was going to say, I was under the impression their contract was up, hence the independent production.

Yeah, that's actually pretty common. Common combo's, in my area at least, are country/hip-hop/R&B/pop rock, country/some older rock bands similar to ACDC, and hip-hop/R&B/pop rock.
