I have no problem with short albums. I love The King of Limbs. The only thing which I guess is just slightly frustrating is the band has many times talked about songs that didn't make the albums and said that they liked some of the songs and hope or need to release them, but their actions usually say they're not that interested in spending more time to finish up or release those leftovers. That's fine too, I'm happy that they are working on things that interest them. But as a fan I'm always ready to hear more music from OLP when they're ready to let me hear it.

They're already talking about doing another album with Jason, sooner rather than later, though -- maybe that means they are hanging on to some of the good ideas that just didn't work in the context of this album?

Yeah, i dont remember if it was jer, raine, or steve, but one of them was asked for their plans after this album, and they responded with plans to start working on the next one fairly soon.

i dont think that will be much of a reality though. After Burn Burn, Raine said they were gearing up for Album 8 to be released Summer 2010. 2 years later and we just got a title and still no set tracklist. if Curve lives up to the hype it'll tide me over for a while.

You gotta remember that this last 3 years between records went fast as all hell, I can tell you it feels like about a year maybe 16 months for myself...its kinda crazy that like 11 months ago I was in LA documenting this album being made - the wolf was born - seems like 3 months ago!! So when they say soon after they prob mean "soon to us" heh

I can tell you that today I saw some conversation about getting unreleased music out to the fans, now I guess its just a matter of when and how to do it best ;)

Good God, man. DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE JUST DONE!?! You just flicked the first domino that sets in motion massive OLP fan speculation.

Definitely need some of these... Its so hard hearing the band talk about songs they love (like Vampires) or just seeing/hearing/hearing about songs from years ago that we still have yet to get. I want Vampires, Trapeze, and Sleeping In soooo much lol.

I even remember the band saying a few months after Burn Burn's release that they finished 14 songs for the album and would be releasing the remaining unreleased two (What Kind of Life and something that had the preliminary title of Song7) soon... Which never happened.

I'm wondering though, they may just mean unreleased songs from Burn Burn and Curve, since previous songs are owned by Sony and are quite older.... they may not be able to or even want to release those, especially the ones featuring Mike instead of Steve. I just don't wanna get my hopes up that we'll hear the studio version of Trapeze only to have them dashed.

It would be very cool to get unreleased tracks. Hopefully they could go further back than Burn Burn, I think most people would love to have clean copies of Trapeze and Vampires.

There would definitely be red tape to go through there, as I'm sure Sony also has some kind claim to these songs, and Mike would have a claim to the even older songs.

I think it would be awesome to have a digital download B-side/unreleased tracks album to compliment Curve for those who pre-order the album....

This means that all the songs are officially finalized and done right?

There could still possibly be some changes. If they're mixing it they probably think they're done, but they've made changes at that stage in the past. Once they start talking about mastering though, it's almost certainly done.

What are the past albums that received changes in the mixing process?

I've said this before, but I really hope Tales from a Grocery List made the cut. I loved the flow of that one.
