is that specifically queen's teacher's college or all teacher's colleges in general? because i know someone going to york that is majoring in psych, and she is planning on going to teacher's college.
Queen's specifically, though I'd suggest she check out and make sure that the college she wants to go to does accept psych majors.

Holy crap. I just found out I have a scholarship! I didn't really have to do anything (other than like...get good grades). This lifts a HUGE burden off my shoulders. I wont' have to get a loan next year!

This occurs to me. Queens is connected to Trent right? My sister goes to trent and is majoring in soc, with a minor in english. Can she still get into teachers college?

I couldn't find the specifics on Trent's website (I thought of that too), but I'd definately suggest she look into that. I know having some psych, soc or anthro courses will help you get admission to teacher's college, but you still need 5 credits in one teachable and 3 in another.

I'll mention that to her, thanks.

Wow, going into teaching is very, very different in the states. I'm going into health education and business and all I did was declare my major and I'm in.

If you do your undergrad in Canada and decide you want to become a teacher, New Zealand will offer you free tuition if you decide to go do your teacher's college there. The catch is you have to stay in the country and teach for X years. I'm not sure the exct amount of time but it's something like 4-7 years minimum.

Thats really interesting. I never heard that before. I suppose it works out well for the country. 'We'll make you a teacher if you promise to teach here!'
I just realized something a few minutes ago. In December MTV Canada and MTV2 were sold to Chum, and Chum was going to revamp the stations. Recently Chum has been advertising two new channels that I guess they are becomming. PunchMuch (which is incredibly difficult to pronounce) and Razer. I know PunchMuch is a 24-hour all request channel, but I think Razer is just another music-based station.

I know, I can't believe its closing either. I'll have to go and buy a bunch before it leaves, it had such awesome selection.

I saw War of the Worlds this afternoon. That was a damn good movie. There are a few inconsistencies in the story line, but otherwise I was completely glued to the screen. I've never read the book so I don't know how it stacks up against it. But it was well worth the ticket price.
Edit: For some reason I said reading a book instead of listening to the radio broadcast. Perhaps an extra nap is needed for me.

Thank you. It's not as exciting as a store that sells virgins though.

because there's only one in the entire country. apparantly the dude who owns the entire Virgin empire is a bit lazy when it comes to owning just one store and one store only in an entire country, so he's closing it.
at least that's what someone told me. *shrugs*

I heard it was because they had too much competition from A&B(I'd go to A&B over Virgin unless it was for something specific). Also because cd sales are down due to downloading.
