Presidents was good. I was front row, but far enough to the side that no crowd surfers came within 8 or 10 feet from me.
They wrote a song for a kid in the audience because I guess he asked them to earlier that day and performed it. Either that or it's actually a song from one of the albums I haven't heard and they changed the lyrics some to make it fit. They said it was new anyway, and I assume they'll never perform it again.
Also, we didn't get the pony.

Weezer and Tegan & Sara on Wednesday. Tegan and Sara were good - I wasn't sure how they'd get on in such a big venue, but they did well. Weezer were fab. They started off with Tired of Sex which is great and got everyone singing and dancing and it just stayed at that great level from there. And somehow we got one of the best places to stand - the venue has a sloping floor, but there are areas on each side that are flat and have a railings so you can watch over everyone else's heads.
Then Tegan and Sara again last night, but headlining. It was a small club (about 200 people I suppose) and they were very funny and chatty and having fun as well as playing lots of songs well. The way the venue was set up their backstage area was totally the opposite side of the stage to where they could get on so they had to walk all the way through the crowd to get on. So instead of going off before the encore they all turned and faced the wall at the back and told us to pretend that they weren't there and scream and shout so that they'd come back.
U2 on Sunday. Yay

U2 were amazing. We got really close - right on the barrier of the outer section. And it was wonderful - well worth the money.
Now I REALLY want to go to see Pearl Jam in Vancouver, but ticketmaster only has 1 ticket left and I need 2. And the ones on ebay are either crappy or expensive or both - does anyone have any other ideas??

The same thing happened when I saw Sloan in this tiny club in Peterborough. The stage was tucked into a back wall so the band had to walkthrough the crowd to get to the stage and at the encore they just had a question and answer session. It was pretty cool.

I saw Judas Priest the other night. What an amazing show. I have been waiting 23 years for this. I was suppose to see Priest in 82' but didn't. Closest was at Live Aid in 85.. that was only 4 songs so it doesn't count.
I went to Music Midtown in Atlanta Last weekend.. On the Friday I saw Red Letter Agent, Micheal tolbert who brought our Arrested Development for one song, Interpol, and I stayed for the White Stripes... I still don't like the Stripes, but I allready paid so I stayed to see them.. Saturday's bill for the stage we went to. Louis XIV( we got there at the end of their set), Bloc Party( who were the best show of the day.)Keane,( who Iheard cause we were on line to meet Bloc Party.Futureheads, She Wants/Seeks Revenge(I can;t remember what they were called)and the Killers. I didn't stay for the Pixies cause we went to teh after show party..
Upcoming shows for me.
The Tea Party in Buffalo on July 7th
Duran Duran-HOB in Atlantic City-July 29th. It is my friend's b-day and a bunch of us are going
OLP-July 31 Buffalo. I can't wait. Plus I get to see Billy Idol.
Sam Roberts-Aug 25th -Buffalo
U2-Oct 7th-MSG( I am going to try to go to the last night out of the 5 in Oct)
U2-Nov 1st-Staples In LA..
with about 40+ shows on the east coast in Fall I am sure we will catch a few.. Esp now that we know tickets are released day of show at box office
there are a ton of shows here this summer. I paly it by ear. If I can I will go, if not no biggie.. .
