I agree. I mean, Sol was healthy enough to be featured on an OLP cover not even two years ago, I can't imagine him passing away from natural causes in that time (unless, of course, he was involved in an accident or something).

As for him being on the upcoming OLP cover, that'd be truly amazing...

Continuing the discussion about album artwork, let's try and think of some good ideas and concepts for the cover.

So let's say the album is called "Dreamland", I'd love to see maybe Sol with a backdrop of a dreamy scene or something, and maybe Sol could be floating or holding something (we know he loves holding things: fish, trapeze bars, birds, etc.).

I don't know. I'm just throwing things around. Honestly though, I doubt that OLP will want Sol to be on the new album's cover. I think he was used on A Decade as a kind-of "wrap up" to their first 10 years. And it might just be me but I think Jeremy honestly loves their new stuff a lot more than their old (save maybe Naveed) and he has been quoted as saying that Gravity was "by far their best album".

Anyway. I often get carried away lol. Discuss.

Exactly. I would doubt Sol would ever be on a cover again, but that wouldn't be etched in stone. I think all the guys have their favorites from the old albums, as well as ones they wish they'd never recorded, and probably even ones they play every night and hate them.

I'd be happy with something as simple as a small shilloutte of Sol in the background of the liner notes.

I mean an OLP album without Sol is like Raine not singing about Satellites

All of rock is based on Religon or Love.

In fact in most rock songs the word "Baby" could easily be interchanged with "Jesus" and you'd have a christian rock song.

I think I recall a quote that suggested that Sol has either died or he's just very old and the band doesn't want to bother him with photo shoots, and that he was on A Decade because of he was in all of the early artwork but even if he is still around they probably wouldn't want to use him in their artwork going forward.

I never recalled a quote saying he passed away (I would think we would've heard about this) but I do recall the same / similar quote saying he's 85 some years old we don't need to have him hanging around by his teeth anymore.

I second this, I've never seen that clip before... is it all that's ever been publicly heard?

Steve put those videos out in early 2005. I think I have it on the hub somewhere. There is also an audio clip on the hub of the demo of Vampires that Jeremy almost got in trouble for playing on the radio. It's only a short clip from the interview, though.

I'll have to try and get on the hub tonight. I set it up initially a couple months ago and got on. It works, I'm just firewalled. Any way could I get someone to share some live, demo, or rare stuff with me?
