I would not have mind giving up Sundin and a prospect or draft pick.

somehow i dont think atlanta wants a player on the decline, making way too much money for his age and who isnt nearly as marketable as hossa will be given hes 26 plus some measly and unless they collapse fully a rather crappy draft pick and some prospect for a guy who in time wouldve been their team captain

Sundin does make a lot of money, but i wouldnt say he's on the decline just yet
and i think getting John Pohl was a pretty good move for the future, looks like he may become a decent player in time.
averages just under a point a game in the AHL

compared to hossa he is
plus at his age its natural for him to decline in production

Ahaha, Luongo got the shaft... 3.2 mil a year instead of the 5 mil for 5 years he wanted.

5 mil a year for 5 years isnt what he asked
5 mil a year for 5 years is what they offered him, he obviously just wanted to sign a short term deal and then become a free agent under the new CBA when he reaches the age

im fairly sure the age is 27, maybe 28

its 28 next year unless you have 7 years of experience in the league and it goes down from there (not the 7 years thing i think)
its really fucked

i wonder if they will trade Luongo now, get something for him instead of just losing him at the end of the year for nothing

they tried to trade him to montreal for theodore but the panthers insisted the habs include ryder so they got rejected (gainey loves that kid)
