they are always playing small places in NYC..

I have a feeling they will be on the Canada day bill in Central OPark this year. My picks for this year are

The Dears, DFA 1979. Teagan and Sarah, and I forgot who else I was thinking of. We will knw in a few weeks if I am right.

Awww. :(

I love how they contain their massive sound in such tiny venues. It's so much better that way.

I'm sure they'll be around again.

Well, I actually hold it up high in the air. But for the most part, no... it's on almost the whole concert.

I <3 concert photography.

Just went to the Killer's concert last night. Probably the shortest show I ever went to (it ended a little after 10) but still loads of fun. :D

I saw the Coral on Monday. They were nothing amazing, but not that bad either. Apparently Noel Gallagher was there. That's the second time I've been to a concert with an Gallagher brother in attendance and not spotted them :(

Haha, nice, Sooz. I get the impression that Noel goes to a lot of concerts. And he stands in the audience cos it's not as good from backstage... which I think is the coolest thing ever for such a huge celebrity to do.

Noel rules.

The first show was Jet/The Stands/The Killers/The Ordinary Boys at the Hammersmith Palais in January or February last year. I think it was Liam who was there - a girl from the MG board bumped into him - literally.

I did try to check the VIP area this time - but it was dark - he was probably there. There seem to be lots of famous people at concerts here:

I've seen:
Supergrass at a Neil Young concert
Kelly Osborne and the Jackasss guys at a HIM concert
Badly Drawn Boy at I think Franz Ferdinand.
Bob Geldof at The Thrills
Busted and a girl from Girls Aloud (be glad if you've never heard of them!) at Avril

I've not seen, but have found out afterwards they were there:
Gwyneth Paltrow at RHCPs
Chris Martin at Flaming Lips
Gallagher brothers as described above.

My friends also stood behind Kate Moss at a Kings of Leon concert.

The best story I've heard was a guy on the train on the way back from a concert one time who'd bumped into Kurt and Courtney at a PWEI concert back when I think Nirvana were playing their very first concert over here.

Monkey literally ran into Tom from Blink-182 at Silverchair in NYC. He was there with Billy from Good Charlotte. Monkey ignored Billy and Tom bought him a drink. :duncan:

oh god when Blink and Silvercharir played. Roseland that was the longest line ever for Roseland.. I remember it went around the back. At that time I Was very good friends with Security so i hung around the back alot just talking with them..

you talk about celeb sigthings at concerts. i can tell you now I know for a fact U2 will be at Snow Patrol's NYC show in May..I wonder if Coldpaly witll be there also. I just found out Coldpaly are doing an AOL concert May17th at Beacon Theatre in NYC.. ( you can only win tickets to get in  ) I haven;t seen Coldplay since 2001..

BTW. At the U2 shows in 2001 in NYC... Courtney Love, Moby, and fe wothers were at the MSG show, while Former Pressident Clinton was at their Meadowlands show..

we also saw Heidi Klum at the Chilli Peppers show at the Garden.. People are also showing up at Hammerstein Ballroom for shows.. I can bet NIN is going to have alot of people there.

I heard Bowie was at Interpol's hammerstein show last Nov.. I didn;t see him. I saw a few journalist, but no bowie.. it is so common to see people at shows here..

Was that not the strangest billing for a concert tour ever? :wtf:
