okay.

mini censored rant/review of the Arts County Fair.

Tupelo Honey: relatively good for a live band. their stuff live is alright, but probably not somethin i would get into. i think i described them to Jason as "Creed, without the religion."

Stabilo: i'm sorry, but these guys were so lame, in my humble opinion. i keep wanting to compare them to someone, and the only 2 bands i can complare them to are John Mayer (but a little more hardcore) or Boys II Men (if you gave them guitars). Something along those lines. I mean, as much as i love and adore John Mayer (not so much with BIIM, ), it really wasn't something that fits at a rock show. and i'm not talking about their live performance (although that was actually pretty okay.).

Metric: really really, REALLY fun to watch live. although, at this point, one fuck of a lot of people were climbing into the stadium, and around here is where all the shoe throwing and moshing started. I think Metric's show would have been excellent (imho) if i weren't taking it down a notch -- i was probably in the worst spot ever, also known as mosh-pit runoff. i think i fractured a rib and bruised my sinal cord.*shudders* So yeah, overall it was quite awesome. :D

K-os: oh, man. matthew good was supposed to be headlining the show (i believe) but i have to say, K-os stole the show. Enough said. hell, he dedicated "Superstar" to Emily Haines, because she nearly got clubbed in the face with a shoe. Is that awesome, or not? I absolutely loved when he made all the girls sing a round of Ray Charles' "Hit the Road, Jack", leading right into "Crabbuckit". That too, was amazingly awesome and fun as hell. Toi add to the list of injuries, i think I've got a collapsed lung or something.

Matthew Good: god. i'd hate to say this, but i really don't want to think about that bit right now. the show itself wasn't bad... well, what i saw of it, anyway. i was kinda busy trying not to get my head kicked in by the mosh pit when i was on the ground, screaming for my life. other than that, the show was fine, good performances, relatively good/drunken ambience, etc, until Matt almost ran off the stage, because of them damn shoe-throwers. (when i got home, i found out that a wrench was thrown, too. :freak: )

uhh, so, yeah, that's all i can think of to say.

me need sleep.

and maybe some ibuprofen.

wow... taking back sunday was amazing. i met them earlier in the day at an in store performance at HMV, then went to the show later on in the night.

seriously, they were kickass both times. all of the songs sounded awesome. best songs in my opinion were 'cute without the 'e' 'and 'you're so last summer'. but yeah, they were kickass

i saw jimmy too... meh... i'm not that into them, but they did sound pretty good live. a lot of the intros sounded pretty cool actually.

Idlewild on Wednesday were very enjoyable musically, but they have the tallest fans ever so I didn't see as much as I'd have liked to. And the crowd was much crazier than I expected so it was a bit scary, I should have got seats.

Yesterday I saw The Rakes and Pretty Girls Make Graves and Bloc Party. I didn't think the Rakes were anything special, but the lead singer had some wierd dances moves that were fun to watch. Pretty Girls Make Graves were mixed - the old songs that I vaguely recognised I enjoyed, but the new songs I didn't enjoy as much. Bloc Party were fabulous, I think they played the whole album plus quite a few old songs and Kele was really chatty between songs. It helped that I went and stood on the balcony and didn't have to worry about being squashed on the floor.

And I got Oasis tickets :D Stupid Ticketmaster told me I took too long putting in my credit card number so I lost the Astoria tickets I had (2000 capacity) but I did get some standing ones for the Hammersmith Apollo (5000 capacity, but lots of that's upstairs and I'll be standing).

Now I need to sleeeeeeeep
