Flyers? Pssh. They have great lineups on paper every year, and they never make it as far as people say they will at the beginning of the season. They make the playoffs, but with the team that they've had for the last couple seasons, they should have at least made the Finals once. Never happened.

Anson Carter will pull it together this year. He couldn't make anything happen with the Rangers, well, because it was the Rangers. Who would play with enthusiasm on that team? It's such a joke. He always played solid on Edmonton when he actually had some people to play with on an actual team.

I like the Canucks chances this season, and you're right, they have had great lineups every year and never made it that far...but they just got Bertuzzi back, and they re-signed most of their key players. They'll be fine.

I cannot WAIT for the season to start.
Don't say we're healing when it's just not what we do...

I really really hope the Leafs pick up Steve Thomas, he used to be my favourite player. He wants to play here and is willing to take a big pay cut, he's a go-to guy in crunch situations (record for most OT goals), and would be an amazing person in the locker room, great player for younger people in the system too. He's one old guy I wouldn't mind having back.

at 42 its questionable, but what about this team isnt
i would pick him up, cheap 3rd or 4th line guy

as for being a great player for younger people in the system, thats true but their isnt really any young guys in the Leafs system

Stajan and Steen are really the only fowards that will see the ice. Maybe Wellwood if need be
and they dont really need Thomas for that, they have guys like Sundin, Tucker, McCabe, Domi, O'Neill who can teach them a lot about playing well and playing tough

either way, who else can they afford right now to put on the wing

and i was also a big Steve Thomas fan, how could you not like the guy

Is it funny because he's dead and playing hockey or because he's too young for the leafs and playing hockey?

Ugh, I wish we would have made a move for Heatley... I'm quite worried about this season.
