On the topic of sitting... it's fine if someone wants to sit if they don't complain. I've sat before cos I was too exhausted to stand. During Foo Fighters, even. But, I didn't complain cos others were standing... that's just stupid.

I know some people enjoy concerts more when sitting, too. There was a kid at Metallica who asked if the seat next to me was empty (which it was). He had a pit ticket (!!!) but wanted to sit and enjoy the show instead of standing. I totally should've taken his ticket and went down (he said he'd trade with whoever's seat it was if they ever showed up), but I didn't wanna leave Monkey alone.

A few thoughts on the tall/short sitting/standing thing.

I'm tallish, my friend that I mainly go to concerts with is short. You can't say that so that everyone can see I should go and stand at the back with the tall people and he could be at the front with the short people cos that would be no fun. Generally we move around until he can see at least something but it normally ends up that I have a pretty good over people's heads and he can see one band member at a time through gaps between other people's heads. It sucks for him, but that's life.

As for sitting/standing I have mixed views. I generally think people should be standing at least for the headlining band but I tend to fit in with what the people around me are doing. At Radiohead I was up and dancing because the people in front of me were, in spite of the people behind me constantly moaning very loudly about people standing up and not being able too see. So not only could they not see but they weren't even listening! There have been occassions where I've got seats because I've been ill and not had the energy to stand up for 3 hours and wanted to sit for the support band and then stand for the main bands - but then I'll try to do what everyone around me is doing. I can still dance whilst sitting in my seat :D The only problem would be if there were small children or old or disabled people who couldn't cope with standing.

Ok, I'm tired and rambling so I'll shut up before I confuse myself.

One time I was sitting right in front of the wheel-chair section. I didn't stand up at all until the very end.
