Yeah, I agree with the whole "I want my gift basket back!" thing. Especially considering the guy said he might switch after the website was up. I just felt so embarrassed that they would do that... moreso than usual.

Henrietta wrote:I agree. I thought the first episode was incredibly odd and Michael was just as embarrassing as at Phyliss's wedding or the corporate dinner party. But the last episode didn't do much for me either. My mom and I both looked at eachother after like, "I want my Office back!" I could NOT believe that Michael drove that car into the lake. He may have always been dim, but never stupid enough that he would do something so obvious.
I think they really could have done a great job with the driving into the lake bit, too. If they'd just had him do it really quickly and follow the direction to turn right with Dwight yelling at him that it was the wrong way, instead of sitting there discussing it first, it could have worked. But the way it happened was just kind of dumb...
I'm still holding out hope though. If you think about it, there have been episodes that felt as weird and out of place as this before. Safety Training was like that for me. Just felt like too much of a stretch. Hopefully the season starts to pick up a bit! In the mean time I can definitely live off of the little moments of hilarity

Oh yeah also I loved Creed dying his hair with the printer ink.

That was priceless. The last episode was definitely better than the first two.
I didn't like Safety Training much either. I sort of want old Pam back

I loved last week's episode. Definitely a huge step up from the first two.
Honestly, who HASN'T watched a screen saver like that waiting for it to hit the corner? That cold open was PERFECT office-writing. A slower, more subtle brand of humour with a much bigger payoff: "some days I am just on fire. whatcanisay?"
Oh, and who else is looking forward to the all-out war of the freaks between Dwight and Andy now that Andy's moving in on Dwight's woman?

Iam Iam!
I've actually done that exact thing with my dvd player.
It never went into the corner though. not once.

What'd everyone think of last night's episode? It felt very different from your normal Office episode, I thought. But at the same time it was awesome!
Michael's debt problems and second job were great. This seems like it'll be more fun than the boss's money troubles in the UK version of the show where he gets a nice severance package and squanders it to produce his own single and music video.
I think in this episode they made the best use of their full hour so far this season. It never seemed to rushed to me, and the plot didn't take off in too many random directions.
Are we back to half hour episodes starting next week? They're going to seem so short now, haha.

Yeah, they saved the best of the 4 for last, apparently.
"I always imagined less manure. I mean, some manure. Just ... less."
I liked seeing a little bit of old-pam shining through when dealing with Michael in the cold open.
The whom ever/who ever scene was fantastic.
"I couldn't do that to Dwight. or Angela. ...or Andy"
and best of all, Jim and Dwight in the stairwell. That scene was so perfect. I loved Jim's realization about all he went through and all he has now. It's also good to see how passionate he is about italian food.

I heard that alot of actors are supporting the writers by essentially walking out as well.

we take clips of the old shows, cut and paste them together and then record our own voices over in a new script... and Voila! New episode!!!
