Oh, and that John Lennon thing would've been cool to see. Cute name... though sad at the same time.

And on to music news.
The long-awaited Nirvana box set that Courtney Love (whore) tried to keep from hitting the shelves numerous times is finally slated for release on November 23.
The box set will be comprised of three CDs and one DVD. Out of the 81 songs on the three CDs, 68 of the songs will be of the unreleased variety, which will include lots of demo songs from Kurt Cobain's house, live tracks, and things you've never heard before. The other 13 songs either are the greatest hits cd (useless) or B-sides to long out-of-print 7" records from way back when.
The DVD is slated to contain a live show (which is good, considering most Nirvana fans haven't seen the band live, or were too drugged up to remember it), 20 different home videos involving Nirvana, and clips of the band recording songs.
Though all information, like a tracklist, haven't been released yet, I'm overly excited. Word on the street is that there will be a limited edition version of the box set with another live show on it, which is also rather exciting. Because of the definite lack of information, the extra live show might actually make its way onto the regular DVD, meaning lots of good times for a low price.
The price on this set is $59.99 and if you care about one of the most influential bands from the 90s (still, not as influential as Pavement, damnit) that made two essential albums, you'll be all over this set. See you on the 29th!
And as a side note, you sure as hell can count on me purchasing this on November 22nd, when the set makes it into my store. I'll let each and every one of you know how fucking sweet it is.

William Shatner, or better known to us as Capt. Kirk, has released an 11-song collection, a follow-up to his 1968 spoken-word debut that inspired a cult-like following. Before you throw aside the new album as another attempt at staying in the spotlight, make note that Ben Folds produced and arranged the new album and co-wrote many of the songs. In addition, Has Been (yeah, that's the title) features guest appearances by Joe Jackson, Aimee Mann, Henry Rollins and Brad Paisley.

You didn't break that sentence up correctly... it should've been:
This SOUNDS... like it's... going-to-suck.

That'll probably be it. I can't think of any other reason for them to be in the movie.

:O New students to Hogwarts!!!
You know, I didn't think they would get an actual band to play the band, but whatever.
Edit: This makes me sad-
"been asked to write some music. There's a section where there's a band of ugly sisters playing and I think, well… some members of Franz Ferdinand may be the ugly sisters in the band."
Ugly Sisters?! Did you ever read Macbeth?!
