Agreed. However just because an album is simple musically doesnt make it any worse. If the craft of an album was all that mattered then we should all be listening to concert pianists. Art can be extremely simple but still very, very good. It all comes down to the message trying to be expressed. For example i dont like most mainstream rap because it targets a humans basic desires: Sex, money and drugs. No one really needs to be reminded about how much fun sex is. It doesnt make you think at all, its just basic.

Axtech - I agree 100% with what you are trying to say.

And to whoever said they think that we didn't like gravity because we weren't used to it, is IMO - 'wrong'. To me, it wouldn't matter who was in the band, when the cd was released, whatever, it just was not a good cd for me. I myself find it very difficult to believe that people can truly think gravity is a better cd than any of the other four. Not that they like gravity more, but if they find it to be a better cd. I can't describe to you how i feel towards gravity that well. I just feel so let don by it. listening to the first four cds and then switching to that gives me an undescribably dissapointed feeling. I feel like so much big potenial that i know the band has, is being wasted to make more money. And I know it may hurt for some fans to hear this, but i really feel they've sold out. Don't get me wrong, i'll never stop appreciating the band, but that doesn't mean that i will enjoy their upcoming music.

As some one had mention some like Gravity better then the other CD's. SOme don't.It is all opinion here. Personally I think Lyrically Spritiual Machines is Raine's best work(with a few song nods to happiness) and for musically I say Naveed. I think that CD has a lot of great bass lines in it(go Chris/Duncan live)

Now to bring the topic back to date. This is OLP's future. What would you like the new CD to sound like if you could have some kind of input( using thier previous released material cd)

I would love it if it had the harder edge of Naveed. That CD is more of a rock CD to me. I love the song lyrics from SM and songs like Thief, Stealing Babies, Blister and SUperman's Dead.

As of now in my opinion relating only to my taste, I don't think OLP have released a really horrid cd. It is coming though. All my favorite acts have one cd I absoutely can't not stand or I think is pure crap and can't believe the band released it. Or as my friend and I say an album of pure filler with maybe one good song.

As for my favorite CD it is a tie between Naveed and SM. I love them both witha apassion. In fact I had my friend make me a mixed cd of the Naveed and SM songs in the order I wanted to hear them. I love the mixed cd.
I wouldn't say I have a least favorite because the other 3(clumsy, happiness and gravity) I like about the same. Only negative thing I will say about them is CLumsy was too poppy/mellow for me and Happiness sounded too polished. As for Gravity I think of it as a stepping stone in where OLP are trying to head. SOme songs Ireally like, others Idon't care for.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

well said, bro.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

If I could have an input on what the new cd would sound like, I would want the sound of Happiness, the flow of SM, the originality of Naveed, and the overall feeling of Clumsy. Call it a huge longshot, but that's truly what would make me happy.

hah! It's funny cause it's true! No one here has still heard of OLP except for one of my friends who thinks they suck because he hates gravity and refuses to listen to anything else I throw at him.

Although part of the SOT vid was on a billboard and commercial for a radio station here. Even though I heard the song on it once during school hours. :wtf:

That would be pretty cool. But hey, even if they just stick with original (unless Raine raps or something) I'll be happy.

Assuming, you know, that the original is good original, and not... uhhh, bad original.

OLP's creativity is steadily dropping. Their upcoming cd has to show some inspiration. Sure they may be having fun, but i don't think that Raine repeating the words 'Walking in Circles' and stay fun for too long. Hopefully album6 will show some likeness to the clumsy or naveed-era (expecting that there is no way they will tyr to repeat SM as it was their worst in album sales, and Happiness... well it was just one of a kind). Anyways, we'll see what happens.

sad but true
i agree, im just crossing my fingers that their new albums better than gravity
