OLP posted a video on Youtube of their acoustic performance of Middle of Yesterday from their JUJU show. Someone posted a comment about there being special guests on their new album.

Raine was just on 102.1 the edge in Toronto, didn't hear the whole thing but i did catch him saying "stop making stupid people famous" will be the first single and will be out in the next 6 weeks hopefully before Christmas. so confirmed that SMSPF will beon the album which seems odd and not quite a fit to me for the concept but we will see how the finished version is.

Stop Making Stupid People Famous is like Won't Turn Back 2.0 for me. That's disappointing.

I believe it will be a standalone as Won't Turn Back....it doesn't fit the album and if I'm not wrong they hinted also on Twitter.

I guess they have it recorded (maybe also an official video) and they don't want simply to waste the work.

by the way Raine was talking on the edge today it sounds like it will be the first single of SMII

Raine was on a podcast yesterday as well. He said Stop Making a stupid People Famous will be the first single from SM2 and would be out just before Christmas. Album to follow early in the new year. Also, he said he truly believes there is some of OLP’s best work ever on it.

Why use a single they already released years ago as the first single of the new album? Did they revisit/redo the new song?

That being said, I can see the bit I heard of Good Die Young and SMSPF sounding like they belong on the same album. I am wondering if that's the direction this album is going.

As far as I know "Stop Making Stupid People Famous" was never released officially.... if it is the chosen one as the first single from Spiritual Machines II it means that or the band was thinking to SM 2 earlier than expected or simply that they don't want to scrap the work that they did on that song :)

It was never released as a single. It was one of those in-progress songs that was played live several times. I think they have refined the song a few times, but I'm looking forward to hear what they have done with it when it gets released.

Talking about songs I'm wondering if "The Fix" will ever see the light of the day! I liked it...

Also, https://twitter.com/SedyBenoitPeace/sta ... 0619635717 if you want to help and retweet...it is another big shame of OLP land

I was thinking the exact same thing. I was anxiously waiting for a studio version and then it seemed to fall off the face of the earth.

Raine was on a podcast "the pop culture show" , and there is a preview of SMSPF. See Raines Twitter. Does not seem to fit spiritual machines vibe much to me but who knows

Sounds great, heard a lot of clips of holes through Raines Insta and the juju live set, he seems really pumped about that song

Listening to it now....man if it sounds amazing....I guess they did some post production processing (some more experts pals maybe can confirm or say that I'm wrong here :D ) cause the performance was indeed good but I didn't remember that GOOD! Especially In Repair...always loved it acoustic...happy to see Are You Sad that in my video stream was cut!
