Lando is pretty much on with Tmpgenc. However, you may want to look into a freeware program called DVD2AVI. It works really simple and isn't a big resource whore to your computer.

Check out www.videohelp.com . You can find all the info you need on converting your DVD's and such there. If you need any programs, swing by the hub or catch me on AIM or MSN and I'll send them your way.

Welcome back!

Thanks for the help guys! :duncan: I'll try those programs and see if I can get them to work. It's possible that I'm just horribly computer illiterate.

Does anyone use a good tag editor to organize their music? I seriously can't find a good way to do this.

Question:
I have only used windows media player to burn cd's since I've had my laptop. And its done a good job. Now I want to burn a data cd. Is there any way to do it without installing some other software to do that?

Also, if I were to burn movies on dvd's with it, they wouldn't be able to play on a dvd player, would they? Just my computer. Right?

If you are on Windows XP, you should be able to insert a blank disc, go into My Computer, double click on the dvd drive, and drag and drop the files onto the disc and it will bring up a burning wizard for you....I think.

Movies won't play on a dvd player unless you are burning them as a disc image or as a dvd movie in a program like Nero.

You should get a copy of Nero. It's user friendly and does most anything you need.
