If my family knew how to use it they probably could. But do you have an answer to my question?

What anti-virus/spyware products do you guys use/suggest?
I'm currently using Spybot, and Ad-Aware for Spyware, and Norton Internet Security for Viruses.
I use Housecall from time to time as well.
Anything else you guys can suggest?
Lately I have a strange intrest/obsession with Internet gadgets, and computer security.
Hell, just post any intresting sites you guys know about.

when computer problems were a big thing with me last year at home with our old crappy computer, i used to pull up the task manager every now and then and go through it from top to bottom, googling up the names of any applications that i wasn't familiar with it. it worked fairly well in identifying any viruses and whatnot. of course, i didn't have protection like you do, because my retard brothers kept uninstalling any anti-virus software i put on there. personally, i think you're fine with the programs you have already.

What's the best way to clean a laptop screen? In the computer shop today there was some kit thing for doing it - but it cost £13 which seemed rather excessive.

I use Kaspersky Anti-virus Personal Pro and Sygate Personal Firewall.
I got them when a computer savvy(sp?) friend of mine was ridding me of some virus I got when I stupidly disabled my Windows firewall. He told me that Norton was big, slow and relatively useless (it didn't catch the virus I had for a good week after I got it, and then it couldn't do anything about it). Sygate Personal Firewall is apparently amazing at stopping spy/adware before it gets on to your harddrive. It also has other features he thought were great but I can't remember them now. He also got me an unlocker program http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ which will free a file of any programs/applications that are using it (so you'll be able to delete the file).
*shrugs*

Get AVG Antivirus. I use it + McAfee + Spybot + Hijackthis and I haven't had any troubles.
www.grisoft.com, just do a search for 'free edition' and you should be able to download it no problem.

Another question for you tech types.
What are some reputable, non-biased sites i can visit that do accuarate comparisons between spy-ware and anti-virus software?
I'm planning on investing in a paid version but don't know who to go with. I used to have Spy Sweeper and it seemed to work ok, but it had some compatibility issues with Norton i think

When I bought my computer they suggested damp soft cloth. It works great.

I'm having problems with my blog. I just redesigned it and it shows up fine in Firefox, Safari, Camino ect, but looks like absolute crap in IE. And by that I mean, the sidebar does not show up where it is supposed to. It's completely missing. While I'm sure most of you use Firefox instead, the rest of the world is still stuck on IE. Any help would be great.

ahhh. i didn''t know how to make the sidebar show up on the side either, it ended up at the bottom of the page... one day i changed the template of my blog and that one showed up on IE. it's weird.
i wish i could help. i know how annoying it is.

I have that on my blog too. In my case it only started when I posted photos that were a little wider than the size of the text.

Hmm. I don't think that is my issue. There should be enough width available for everything in my sidebar.
