My sister bought the Life one today. Her best friend is buying the Death one.
How cute.

Ah yes.
Thats true.
I think its really stupid for all these bands to put out multiple records at a time now. Espically since more people are downloading then buying (its arguable, I know...blah blah) Wouldn't releasing twice as much stuff to buy make more people download it rather then spend that much money? If anything, it would seem like a bad investment. Maybe thats just me though...

Album sales are bouncing back slightly in North America, but you also have to look at the demographic. Most Good Charlotte fans are teens with a lot of expendable income, and since they're all "hardcore" good charlotte fans they need to have both versions of the cd. It'll go platinum easily.

Yeah, you people don't work at a record store. And I use the term loosely because it still is Best Buy and all.
Anyways, this girl was having a fucking fit because I wasn't able to give her the death version of that stupid album today. I wanted to cram that cd down her throat and watched her choke to "death." Haha, I make myself laugh sometimes.
And what the hell is the big deal? It's the same album, except one album has ONE different song than the other. How the fuck can those assholes sleep at night knowing that they're making children buy two albums so they have access to one more song?
Oh, I forgot, there's different cover art. Oh wait, no there isn't. The safe on the "Life" version is a red-brown color. The "Death" version has the same red-brown safe, but with a darker tint. Stop the world, there's a slight difference, let's make kids spend more money.
Then on top of that, after the sale ends this week, the albums will be $14.99 each, which is fucking murder for an album. At least with the talentless Nelly, he gave two different albums with two different vibes to it. God knows I hate his music, but at least he has the common decency to give people different albums of shit, instead of the same album twice. He gives a hip-hop album and an R&B album, and even though it sucks, and believe me, it sucks, it's different.
Good Charlotte sucked long before this, but good God, they found a way to stoop even lower. I guess they can afford more mascara, black nail polish, and stupid bandanas so they can look soooo hardcore. It must be tough being a rick band, so I guess any way you can possibly exploit children has to be taken. Or maybe they realized their shelf life is running out and had to produce one last way to steal money from little kids.
Now for their next trick, they're going to rape everyone's grandmother. Watch out, yours might be next.

This actually isn't as bad as what Blink-182 did. They had limited edition versions of "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket", and there were three different versions of it... one was "Take Off", one was "Pants", and one was "Jacket"... each had a different bonus track... BUT, here's the catch, they weren't labelled differently on the outside. You just had to just guess which one you were getting... I feel really bad for the kids who tried to get all three.
Regardless of all this, I'm sure the record label has a lot more to do with these kinds of things than the bands themselves.

your probably right about the record labels.
but anyway, i dont think Blink was hoping for people to go for all three. If that was what they wanted, they would have labelled them all separately, so kids would purposely buy them all.
I think they just went along with the completely not-serious vibe of the album and decided to throw random rediculous songs on the end for kicks. i thought it was pretty fun.

You can't tell me the record label that Good Charlotte is on wouldn't listen to them if they said something like, "Instead of making separate cds for these two songs, how about we just make a bonus EP that comes with the purchase of the album?"
This is one of the biggest selling bands around right now, so I can't believe that they have absolutely no say in what happens with their album. That's just the blind excuse people give when they don't want to think about how they're getting screwed over.

:O Thats pretty low. The record thing. I wouldnt know, i've never listened to either band, but We're calling Britney Spears a Money Grabber?

Its especially lame because they[Blink/GC] claim to be all "Punk"/Parents Suck Blah blah/Lets make everything free anarchy . And then they rip off money from their tweeny fans.
Its Ironic. They Suck Anyways.

I'd put Blink 182 over Good Charlotte anyday. Good Charlotte is telling people that they have 2 different albums. I didn't know about the Blink thing until I started to download the album.
I think GC also put actual songs on the album anyway....Blink had a song about fucking a dog.
To me, it seemed like it was supposed to be random, not "Buy our album 3 times over!"

I was at the Brixton show

The DVD doesn't come out here til next week though.
And I might have bought the album if I didn't have to choose between the 2 versions. But I can't do choice. So I'm not getting either version.

okay, stop getting so pissed off because GC released 2 different versions. it's not a big deal.
they said themselves, it was just for fun, and if you have either version, you can put it in your computer and get the other cd's bonus track. so it DOESNT MATTER WHICH ONE YOU BUY!!!
i bought the life version. i was never planning on buying either, so i randomly guessed.
in all honestly, the cd really isn't as good as i had hoped it would be. ive listened to it maybe 6 times. Last night I put in their first cd, and today i played The Young & Hopeless.. and those cds are SOOOO much better.

OH MY GOD, LET'S TYPE IN CAPS AND GET PISSED OFF SOME MORE!!!!!
It's good to know you can play the album on the computer and get the other track. It's really useful, because people don't listen to music away from their computer, in portable cd players, or in their cars anymore. Good Charlotte, always staying ahead of the curve.
And just to let ya know babe, we weren't getting pissed off. At least I wasn't. I was joking. I thought it was pretty obvious, as I did add the whole "raping your grandmother" line at the end. But maybe I didn't make it obvious enough.
