Go watch Junior hockey. Or if you have a non-nhl professional team in your area go support them. It's cheap and good hockey.

then you should be fine. Honestly, NHL hockey is only good during the playoffs. It's crap otherwise.

:O I beg to differ! But local hockey is always fun. Tons more fights, and lots of public drunkeness.

Even if the game doesnt have "Stakes" IE: Playoff positions, you've also got Rivalries, and just damn good games. Playoff time = Bandwagon Jumpers = Lots of hype.

There are how many games in a season? at least, 1000 right? Out of those maybe 10% are actually worth watching in my opinion. You do get the odd rivalry but most teams don't have rivals. Detroit-Colorado, Toronto-Ottawa, Flames-Oilers and maybe Rangers/islanders/devils. Most of the other old rivalries have died.
The final 10 games of the season mean very little for 80% of the teams.
I don't deny there are some good games, but most games I've gone to are pretty much crap, and witnessing a regular season game and comparing it to witnessing a playoff game is like night and day. It's not about the fans and bandwagon jumpers, they have little to do with it, but when you have debatably the best players in the world playing at only 75% during the regular season, you can really see the difference compared to the playoffs.
I've grown up on hockey. I've been playing it since I could walk and I've played at high levels all of my life. I have friends who play in the NHL, and they would agree with me that the quality of play is immensely higher in the playoffs. So I think I know a thing or two about the game. (not saying you guys don't either)

no fucking way. first off it was a clean and legal chop block. it wasn't in the back and there should have been no penalty. thank god there wasn't. secondly, the lineman was doing his job, i cannot understand how you can sit there and bitch about a guy doing his fucking job. un fucking believable. the defender had a chance to make a play if the back had cut back against the grain, so in order to refuse the play to the defender, the lineman chopp blocked him. that's the way it is ladies, that they way the game is played. if you dont like it, there's table tennis on the other channel.

ping-pong fucking owns.
but umm.... i think i agree.
I didn't see the hit, but if it's legal and it's your last available move, then you've gotta make it.

see
heres my take on it reno
it shouldnt be legal in the first place
strictly from an anatomical standpoint a play of that nature has a high chance to do severe damage to the knee/body
the O-linemen shouldnt just let the dude cream whomever on his team but he shouldnt be able to disable a member of the other team either (in some cases forever)
yes footballs a rough sport
yes i agree that "if you cant take the heat, stay out of the kitchen"
and all that shit
but there has to be a line drawn somewhere
linemen weigh like.. 200-300 lbs
put that much weight/force solely on ONE joint and see how well they last
given that the nfl doesnt have guaranteed contracts, the LEAST they can do is protect the atheletes by having rules to not allow any kind of chop block

I actually agree with that. I only care about the playoffs and cup game.
