I'll agree with that in full... I'm a huge Jimmy Gnecco (Ours) fan, and Raine cutting back on his falsetto usage as much as he has is like if Jimmy stopped using his... It changed/would change the impact of the songs entirely. Something had to be stepped up with OLP. And with this album I feel like it really will be,based on the clips.

Yes it will definitely be a step up from at least Gravity and HIPT. "Paper Moon" proves that already.
You weren't a member when this news was put out, but in a Duncan interview recently he said that Raine goes into "classic falsetto" around 3 times in the record, and he said Paper Moon was a prime example (this was before the full song was released).
So I'm not expecting much of classic Raine yelps in the album, but some great moments definitely. The chorus in Paper Moon really made me smile
Also it seems that the cryptic lyrics Raine used in the past are back for at least "Paper Moon" and "Monkey Brains", which is sweet.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Refuge could be an instrumental?
I don't think it is, but of the two 30 or so second clips of the song, all there is is some background vocals. Plus I just don't get any feel for vocals to the song.
Kinda comparable to Life In technicolor by Coldplay. Starts of slow and builds up to a big bridge and then quietly ends.
EDIT: Actually now that I think about it, it could be an instrumental, though a short one. The audio clip flows pretty well into the video clip. Just add a little more buildup.

Hmm... never read that quote. Interesting.
He's more than just a composer now, he's a producer as well, so maybe an instrumental piece would be a big accomplishment for him.
I actually hope it's an instrumental.

Yeah, I think the clip cuts off right before we're gonna hear some lyrics, actually.
Anyway, I know we only have 30 second clips, but what are everyones favorites so far? (excluding Paper Moon, AYD and MB)
For me:
1. Dreamland
2. White Flags
3. Never Get Over You (surpisingly)
4. The End Is Where We Begin
5. Escape Artist
6. Refuge (though the clip isn't indicative)
7. Signs of Life

Anyway, I dig what we've heard so far! Can't wait to hear this whole thing. Should be good stuff!

I'm super super SUPER happy with what we have of "Dreamland" so far. I really can't wait to hear the whole song.

Hey guys - this isn't really "Ourladypeace.net relaunch" news but since this board is active now I'll post here:
I'm planning on putting some Youtube videos of myself singing some OLP songs!
LOL before you laugh, I'm actually not that bad, even a few friends have complimented me, and I can reach mostly all of the falsetto high notes in some old songs.
I'll post the links when I get the videos up, hehe should be interesting

UGH! Can't believe I didn't see that.
Monkey Brains - Awesome.
The End Is Where We Begin - Not too bad. It's got a nice pulse to it, and you can tell the song is just waiting to explode.
Escape Artist - Bouncy and organic feeling, although when Raine's voice comes in I think of super-cheesy love songs.
Refuge - I can definitely see where the comparisons to U2 come in. I'd like to hear the vocals before making any half-assed judgement.
Never Get Over You - Not too bad.
White Flags - I was impressed by it, for sure, but I think Raine's voice sounds a bit too polished. It's very smooth. Almost unnaturally smooth. It has an energy that reminds me of Potato Girl -- happy thing.
Signs of Life - I smell the HiPT in this one, although it makes me think of the tracks I actually enjoyed from that album.
Paper Moon - I know this song from before, obviously. I dig it.
It seems mellow, but in a warm-happiness-peaceful kind of way.
