I work at Best Buy!

Anyways. Murder By Death definitely isn't well known. They have a pretty decent cult following and always seem to have the ability to leave everyone in complete awe when they play. It's a damn cool ability to have.

And honestly, you're not jumping on the "cool" bandwagon, unless you're going to see the Von Bondies because Jack White beat the shit out of Jason or you liked that "C'mon C'mon" song.

the instrumental at the end of their set  I would kill for a bootleg of that

They dropped the instrumental from the end of their set for their opening tour with Braid. They end with "End of the Line" which is still pretty badass.

And the Jason Stollsteimer thing. Jack White produced the Von Bondies' first album, and Jason, being egotistical (in Jack's eyes) kind of disregarded it and said the VB's would be popular even without Jack. Soon after, Jack's relationship with Marcie, the guitarist of the VB's ended, causing more problems. And at a Blanche concert in December, the two exchanged words, and well, Jack kicked his ass because Jason is a pacifist and refuses to fight anyone.

Wow. That would never make me go to a concert. But good to know.

Well, the thing is, when Jack White kicked his ass, it gave the Von Bondies lots of unwanted press, but it got their name out there. It drove the demand to hear what they sound like (astonishingly similar to the White Stripes) and made them more popular.

But like I said, I've seen them in venues that couldn't hold more than 100 people if the venue was packed with 100lb. scenesters. They just played a show on Sunday in front of over 1000 people and they're the new "it" band.

I heard a lot about them a few weeks ago when I was following Sloan around. But I think it was because they were playing the same venues just like a week later.

No Warped Tour for Alan. I wanted to see ALK3 and NoFX, but they both drop off before they come to Detroit, so fuck that.

I'm seeing a local band called The Paybacks tonight. This shall be good.

I just found out that, because I'm letting my friend stay at my house a week while his parents are out of town, the tickets to the Guster/Ben Folds/Rufus Wainright and Barnaked ladies concerts are free.

I am so cool.
