That's different, though... those were demos that were given out to get them signed... I think. Josh? You know everything there is to know about those demos ... am I right? But anyway... if I'm right, then I'm sure they perfected those demos as much as possible.

i don't mean to start another debate, but don't you guys at least agree that Raines Voice and Lyric talents are being wasted on the new stuff? Not to mention an amazing Berkley Music School graduate on guitar, and one ofthe contients formost drummers.......so much talent, to create music that backyard bands in my town could create.

i agree they are wasting talent- and i agree i heard some earlier demos and they were good even though the songs didn't always come out the same- also, the juno performance of "not afraid" was in essence a demo and was better then, and look how crappy the final version sounded- so either way, demo or not, they're just not making particularly good or interesting or unique music right now- and also, its obvious raine has no problems hitting the falsetto- have you heard the end of are you sad live?- he can definetly still do it- like i said i'm a singer too- there is a range of notes for most people that can either be done regularly or with a high falsetto, depending on you vocal range- raine has trouble with SOME high notes when he doesn't use the falsetto- so the reason why he's struggling is just because he's choosing to sing the notes regularly, and it's a strain for him- thats either becuz he's just decided not to use the falsetto, or someone told him not to- either way it doesn't sound particularly good
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
mainly because it's the new song, but also because Not Afraid is boring now that they gutted it

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS MY OPINION, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT PLEASE DO NOT BASH IT WHAT I AM GOING TO SAY IS SOMETHING I BELIEVE IN, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO AGREE WITH ME.
Raine is no longer 21 years-old. He cannot hit the same notes as before, it's happened to the best of them, Paul McCarthey, Mick Jagger, Gene Simmons etc. Of course he won't be able to hit some of the notes as well as he could 10, 5, even 2 years ago. Instead of looking at this as the end of the good days, why not look at it as the beginning of a new day, with a new sound. I agree with whoever said that he's straining his voice by trying to sound "normal" and the perosn who said that Our Lady Peace (or theit managment/label) are trying too hard to make them out to be young so that they appeal to a younger demographic. I think that they sould embrace their evoloution as a band, and stop making tennie-bopper music like SOT and Innocent. I don't want to get into Grabity bashing, but I just hope and pray that they will move as far away from that sound as possible. I like Vampires a lot more than Nor Afraid, and it is because it seems as though they are being honest with their music. But at the end of the day, Sony will probably make them record a more radio friendly version. This may very well be OLP's last album, why not make it count? I know that most threads start off with something as innocent as asking about what people think of a song, then some things are said, and eventually we're right back to the same place where the last thread ended: 'OLP sold out...can't wait till the new CD!!" We should just let the band do whatever they want to do, and hope that it comes out well.

That's what it feels like sometimes here.
People disagreeing with your opinion doesn't equate "slaying" you. We've had this conversation before. The first person to speak isn't the only one allowed to have an opinion, and all following comments are not required to align themselves with said first opinion.
That having been said, I'd like to add my opinion.
hey!
you cant do that you bastard
you = young 'un
therefore you = no cane
me = old and senile
therefore me cane krammit
you can like.. golden wang him or some shit like that
This whole opinion thing is really annoying. If it wasn't your opinion you wouldn't have said it. Come on, get over it. Just because someone wants to argue or debate your stance doesn't mean they are making a personal attack.
