Healthy's length was a combination of blame (not really blame, but you get the general idea... the "reason" I guess would do?). The label/Bob are to blame because they kept putting pressure on the band because the guys weren't making the music they wanted them to. But some of the blame goes to the band, as they admit they had no idea what they wanted the sound to be on the record.

@DG, check their last.fm page.

Well Happines was all over the place too and it did pretty well in terms of sales. As Raine put in, it was all over the "sonic palette."

I didn't mean it as in it was "all over the place." It's just that during the recording, the band couldn't decide which sound was best for the record... Raine has since stated that the band was lost and didn't know what they wanted to do.

Once upon a time they originally wanted to record something that sounded like Metallica's "St. Anger". After the one-off sessions, they came back from touring and decided most of it sucked. Over the next two 1/2 years they went through twelve studios recording and re-recording material to try to live up to the three or so songs they liked from the first sessions. While at a studio in Malibu things really broke down, that's when Bob was fired for a bit. According to Duncan, the songs from this session were their darkest sounding material. He also said the files were deleted, never to be heard again. In the end, they cam back to Toronto and pretty much re-recorded everything, which brought the band back together. Several songs still remained from the first sessions though. That's why the style from song to song may vary a bit.

The End :mrgreen:
Sincerely, C.H.

Well that explains everything! I wonder why Bob never sued the band though. I always thought of him as a greedy guy.

His Facebook page says it's the 7th but his tweet/status update said his birthday was on the day when Jesus rose... He did say he needs a calendar. He's either wiped from the tour or he's reading from a different bible. :D
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida
