OLP inspired song

Hey guys... this is just a solo song of mine. My band lost it's drummer :crying: , so while my music projects are in chaos, i'm trying to stay active and get some solo work done.

I'll never have raine's vocals, but I'm undeniably inspired by everything the man's done. Hopefully you guys think this is a good song, and not just a wanna be making some wanna be tunes. I've been taking vocal lessons, trying to improve my range, setto, and tone. I feel like i've come a long way in less than a year.

New song. Well, Old song that we recorded our bass player onto, and then i redid the vocals after a few months of vocal coaching.

Your voice sounds better in the solo song...but probably is because on the full band song it is a little low (in terms of audio)...however both songs are good!

I like the first one (Moving Pieces) and the second one not so much. Moving Pieces reminds me of Metric in a way, and I think that it's because you might be better off having a female voice singing it. The song was good when you sung it, but when you added the overdubs to create a falsetto, it sounded it even better. That's why I think it might be better if you could get one of your girl friends to sing it so that you can maintain a higher pitch on the non-falsetto parts. Somebody like who sounds like Emily Haines would be awesome.

My sister is my bass player, and used to have her own band. She has an amazing voice, but I can never get her to sing on my stuff because she's not at the point where she can play and do anything else simultaneously. I do vocal layers like that on a few of my songs, and it does make it fall flat during live gigs because i lose that. Hopefully she'll get more comfortable with it soon.
