i always enjoy listening to signs of life, just a nice chilled out song.

good to see that everything appears to be going to plan and on schedule:). also, i agree with everyone in regards to the hopeful release of 'tales..' in some capacity, reallly loved the sound of that track.

Just listened to the Window Seat soundcheck, The Wolf live, and If This Is It demo in studio for the first time since they first came out.... this month can't pass by soon enough.

Done with the videos though. Don't wanna get my ears stuck on certain versions.

I won't knock paper moon... If anything its really closest to raines old style as its got the 'setto going... But I just could never get into it. Its just very poppy, and I guess that turned me off. The refugee melody reminds me of olp's older stuff, even if the singing style is toned drown from raines former glory. Honestly, those two songs and monkey brains are the only ones that I can remember. I gave the album multiple listens, but each time i ended up enjoying it less. Part of why curve is make or break for me. I have high hopes, but of all the tracks, grocery list was my favorite demo. I'm worried that the band dripped it because out sounded to much like their older stuff, which they're bored of.... Preform is, its their old stuff that I love um for.

Paper Moon poppy? Are you kidding? Come on the one minute guitar solo it's one of the best thing in OLP's history(for me)...when i play Burn Burn i listen Paper Moon at least 3 times...the guitar solo makes me chill! And also the meaning of the song have a fundamental role! For me it's one of the best OLP's song!
However on Burn Burn i write this some months ago in another topic:
"Guys, Burn Burn is not the worst album...in this album we have song like Dreamland, Monkey Brains, Escape Artist, Refuge and Paper Moon that are amazing!!! And also The Right Stuff it's good, it's true Raine's voice sounds bored but Burn Burn it's a album that needs to be seen in a perspective way because it's the first where the band(after Steve) it's in a comfortable position...the result of Burn Burn recording will be seen in the Album 8(now Curve)....naturally it's my personal opinion" :)

Just my opinion too. And you know what they say; opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, sometimes two. I won't say burn burn is a bad album, its just an album that doesn't speak to me. Thats my problem, not OLP's. Its just disappointing when I know the band is capable of writing music that is really gets me to my core, but they don't want to write that kind of music anymore. I'm really excited about this album, but I know that it is not going to sound anything like the OLP we have ever known. My hopes is I like it better, I really just need to wait and see how it goes. I'm assuming by the clips i've heard that I will like it, but i have really high standards for OLP.

You're right...everyone have their opinions....i don't agree with you but i respect your opinion...but you're right when you tell that you have high standards for OLP but a characteristic of the band it's to evolve theirs sound and i'm proud of it!

Looks like Curve might turn out being an app album... very exciting news :)

The following is Raine's response to my question about the possibility of individual tracks being released to fans:

Weird! I was thinking they could just share the .wav files like most bands so we can play with them in regular audio editing software. Maybe they'll do both, or maybe it'll be easy to extract the tracks from this app though.

Definitely groundbreaking! Great to see that the band is looking for ways to market/revolutionize itself. Wonder if it will follow the same concept as Bjork's Biophilia record released last year. As far as I know, it is considered to be the first ever 'app album'.

well i wouldn't say "app album"- but I would say remixes :)

What we are doing is deff ground breaking and I am working with a good friend who has developed some cutting edge technology that is part of a much bigger plan that has the potential to change music as you know it.

We are just putting the finishing touches on this thing and hope to have it released in the next week or so - if all goes to plan I might be able to give you guys a sneak peak before it launches to the public.

According to Raine's Tweet(that i post also on Raine's solo topic) the OLP's stuff were complete 3 days ago...then i think that we have the tracklist(the one that Trusty posted) and that the album is in mastering!

Do you think the app stuff will include non-album songs?

I think Fire in the Henhouse is a better song title not taking the song into account. The Wolf makes better sense as a song title from the version of the song we've heard.

If the song has gone through major changes then perhaps FITH will make better sense, will only know when we hear it.

(Oh on a side note, I'm not new to the forums. I was under the name Automatic but locked myself out of the account somehow. Good to be back!)

I like both titles just fine. I guess they were going back and forth on it since the Fire in the Henhouse title came up a while back, but the band has continued calling it The Wolf more recently. Not like that's a new thing though... maybe it should be called "Fire in the Henhouse (Wolf)".
