Actually it seems like he had some major reflecting as far as his beliefs/religion are concerned... just from listening to "Where Are You" alone.

lol, no that's wicked stuff. I'm just playing. I just don't like Bono, and I know Raine likes him so I don't want Raine to follow in his steps, but he IS doing that artist going to save the world bit...or at least startingl
*shrugs* I don't see what people have against musicians who try to use their fame for good rather than just being a leech on society like a lot of artists today.

I just don't see it as there place. Sure, it makes sense and will be noticed because of their fame...but he didn't get into this for that and that's maybe what bugs many people about things like that that happen.
Then who's place is it? ANYONE is entitled to try to make a difference while they're on this planet. Just because someone's a musician doesn't make their views any less relevant than anyone else's.

Isn't it everyones place to try and save the world? "With great power comes great responsibility" and stuff like that. I think it's good if Raine tries to influence others to do something good, it's a lot better than sitting in oodles of cash, buying booze and jewelery. Sets a better example I'd think.
Just chill out man, take an enama or something.

lol yeah I'm tired. What it meant is I've always seen OLP as a non politic issue band, and now that they're heading that way, a path I don't like at all because I'm a dumb teen, it bugs me a bit.
Maybe you could try not being a "dumb teen" anymore. I used to hate politics, too. Now I realize just how important they are to pay attention to.

I think Bono's a giant knob. But anyways, I don't think there's anything wrong with the idea of artists using their fame for good causes, but it becomes a problem when they stick to their own ideologies and don't really know all the facts. It's good to encourage people to make their own decisions (which I think Raine has mostly done), but not so much to shove your view down people's throats. When artists start doing that, they're basically evangelizing, which is no good in my book.
Hare Krishna!
This is my story both humble and true,
Take it to pieces and mend it with glue.
- John Lennon, 1969
Just to reflect on the whole Bono/Raine thing here. Yes Raine is heavily influenced by Bono as a singer./songwriter.. As for trying to save the world, I think that comes from the work he did with Chantal for Warchild. SO if anyone is to blame it is HIS WIFE CK-- not Bono.. Plus I think BONO picked up where John Lennon left off.. JL was a big influence on BONO. Funny how OLP have coverd Beatles and JL songs..
There is nothing wrong with exposing people to things going on in the world. It is when it is preached it gets bad. I don't think Raine is any different now then before. He has always had some kind of religion theme running through some songs.. It may be from his upbringing.. You probably aren't listening to the lyrics closely..

Actually to be quite honest with you Nikki, I think Bono uses his superhero powers for poor countries, when he is in the midst of touring or releasing an album, IMO however..
