This is one of my my favorite bands. If you were a 90's kid, there's a small chance you saw show called Pete and Pete. There was a house band for that show called Polaris who wrote the theme song and background music( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkGtGt1L6iU ). this is the same band + a guitarist.
The band isn't particularly OLP sounding, but this one track really caught my ear as being reminiscent of Naveed. Mark Mulcahy occasionally sounds anxious or paranoid in his deliveries, similarly to rain's nervous energy on earlier albums. On this particular song he used some sparing falsetto. Halfway through a rock riff comes in and it just hits me the same way that Naveed did. Hopefully you get some enjoyment out of it.
