Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

the lyrics in that song are awesome
"You work three jobs? Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that." George W. Bush, to a divorced mother of three, Omaha, Nebraska, Feb. 4, 2005

my greatest memory of university was in first year when one night after watching my friends play an open mic night at a restaurant downtown, we were all waiting for the pub bus to take us back to campus. They pulled out their guitars and eventually my friend Dave started playing Hey Ya. By the time the bus came to pick us up there was over 100 people watching/singing along. Then when everyone got on the bus he pulled out his guitar again and played an extended version of it, and the whole bus sang and danced to it. People were actually crowd surfing in the bus. It was amazing.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

yeah

the cool thing is that the lyrics don't sound weird with this completely different take on it (except for the shake it part, though I think he does a good job of keeping that part nice and bouncy, and I love the way it leads into him belting out the last round of "hey ya"s)

I saw this song performed last night by Jason Webley, an accordion playing street performer who happened to be opening for the Dresden Dolls. It was pretty interesting, I will put an mp3 up after I transfer the recording.
