Coldplay Appreciation Thread

Postby Tattooed Angels » 5/19/2005, 3:37 pm

Since Coldplay seem to be one of the bands of the moment why not give them their own thread here..

the AOL concert they just taped in NYC will air on June 7th( same day as CD is released)

also the new issues of Blender, Q and Entertainment Weekly all have interviewsarticles on Coldplay..

Coldplay will be the Musical guest on SNL this week.

also if anyone lives in NYC area and gets WPLJ.. Chris and Johnny will be on the race taylor show on Monday the 23rd..

Enjoy:

P.S I found my photos of CP last night. GOD they look so young in them..

I passed up thier show cause I got tickets for U2 at last minute.. U2 are my all time favorite band.  . I do like COLDPLAY.. I found my photos of them last night. ODD, they all look a bit different now. Except Chris, he looks the same.

Besides they are playing about 4 shows here in fall.. I am sure you wouldn't give up seeing your favorite band for a band you like... There is no band I would see over U2.. well maybe the Rolling Stones, but that is it..

I'm surprised "X and Y" hasn't leaked yet. I'm less than 2 weeks away from owning the actual album though. I hope the whole thing isn't like "Speed of Sound" (read: "Clocks Part 2").

Don't worry, Speed of Sound isn't one of the best tracks on the album in my opinion. It varies from Interpolesque songs like Low to the Johnny Cash tribute Till Kingdom Comes. They played a secret showcase in Holland in the beginning of April and it rocked. They made a couple of mistakes (like forgetting the lyrics to Amsterdam) but that only made it more special.

I wasn't very interested in the songs they played on SNL tonight. They didn't really go anywhere. :uhh:

My gf loved the songs they played on SNL. Personally I thought they could have been better, but I'm certain this album will solidify them as one of the biggest bands in the world.

Speed of sound sounds a lot like clocks...

i saw the video for SOS last night on VH1.

I can't believe all the hoobla surrounding COLDPLAY.. Don't get me wrong I am a fan am going to see them live.. I just find it funny that alot of media are calling them the greatest band in the world now.. I disagree. with both U2 and the Rolling Stones doing major tours.. Oh well..

hopefully CP will have long lasting careers like those two bands..

BTW U2 or their crew has CLOCKS on their music cd while setting up their stage between them and KOL.
I just asw the SNL.. It was a bit mellow-but I do like SOS...

I think it's possible to say Coldplay are among the biggest bands in the world... The stones are a bit too old to be considered the biggest. Most people don't even think about them unless they announce some massive tour or show. I would say U2, Coldplay, and Radiohead are the three biggest right now. I don't think anyone else really comes close.

I'm going to have the album in 6 days probably, so I think it's a little too late in the game to be downloading a leak personally.

untill it is offical released therre can still be a leak..

I cna wait..

I hate the whole lottery pre-sale thing though. How do you know if yo can or can;t do the per-sale. At least I will be able to o the radio staioon pre-sale if I choose. Sometimes it is better to wait till the actual show..
