CONCERTS
Yay I got REM tickets on ebay for just over the cost price

Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.
And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

I was going to get INTERPOL tickets this morning in a pre-sale. They want $5.00 processing fees ontop of other fees. I will take a chance and go to Ticketmaster tomorrow on my Lunch break. Worse comes to worse I can wait to the show. It is in NOvember. Only problem is by the time the shows come around I forget or don't have the money to go.
I wish shows weren't so expensive now. That's why I don't go to them like Iuse to.

Blink 182 - 08/09/04 Thats Sept 8
Venue: Hordern Pavillion.
I've been to my fair share of concerts and NEVER have I ever experienced a pit like the one at Blink. Neither have I ever bailed on a pit until now. Apart from there being a pure sea of wriggling teens covered in sweat. The concert was great. 8/10 for crowd interaction 7/10 for songs played. and 8.5/10 for entertainment value. They didnt play a lot of their old stuff but what they did play was done VERY well
23.5/30

There's an Oxfam show here next week (the REM one I'm going to) where the seats upstairs are more expensive than the floor. It's the first time I've seen that and it's just wierd. Fine by me though since I'd never go upstairs anyway

Just went to the INTERPOL site. Playing abunch of shows on East Coast(yeah Philly) plus TV appearances. I liked the songs Iheard, but after seeing on with the Cure I have become a bigger fan.

the last show i went to was big d and the kids table. i gotta hand it to the ska kids, they know how to have an effing good time at a show. i didn't know any big d songs, yet i was totally into it, the enthusiasm was just so contagious. my roomie (HUGE big d fan) and i literally skanked all the way home (from the metro).
shows coming up: the unicorns
metric
the dears
metric and the dears are playing the same night, yet i fully intend to make both shows, as they are only a few blocks away from each other and the dears play two hours after metric is supposed to. i can so do that.

lol I went to a big D show once! It was way fun. I used to have one of their CD's, but I gave it away to a friend who likes them far more than I do. I don't listen to that type of music much, but you're right, ska shows are very fun.
dcfc is on friday!! Except the bad thing is there is going to be a LOT of people there because it's free. I know a lot of people who are going that have never even heard them.

don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.
Last night I saw:
Razorlight - really good
Jamelia - also good especially given vast majority of the audience was into a totally different kind of music to the one she plays. She did a cover of Numb by Linkin Park which was great.
Minnie Driver - meh. Her voice is ok but the music was boring
The Thrills - not bad. All their songs still sound the same though.
REM - only played for 45 minutes but were amazing as ever. They did 3 songs from the new album, one of which I really really really liked. Chris Martin came and sang Man on the Moon with them
Surprisingly there was no End of the World As We Know It. But still great. I can't wait to see them again in November

I saw Sarah Slean opening for Ron Sexsmith last Sunday. There were about 20 Sarah fans there, and her new record was already on sale (although it doesn't officially come out until September 28). She put up a really great performance, even if it was a tad short (but that's what you get when you come for the support act). She interacted a lot with the audience, in a really sweet and funny way. Me and my friends sort of did the backing vocals to Sweet Ones, and she seemed to really appreciate that.
After the show she came out to sign cd's and tickets, have fans take pictures with her and generally chat with them. She was really sweet and interested in what we had to say, were it about musicals or filesharing. She might come back in the Spring and I am SO going to be there.

Guy: We're in the hallway, always at half past nine.
Girl: Would he ever get to know me? Would he take the time?
