I think the twice a year thing will kinda cover that.

Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

I want to change mine too. Peters is my maiden name. It seems like moons ago that I had that last name.

see, the thing about my version is that you don't have to wait for that twice a year thing. If you have some reason for wanting to change your name you should be able to do it when that reason comes along. It would limit frivolous name changes while still allowing people to change them when needed.

i still agree with lori and alex. i mean it was voted on once to not do it. i just don't see the point being it was already dealt with. but since it seems like it's gonna be done anyway i'll shut up now :)

well, we could vote again. I mean, there's a lot of different members now that weren't here when that was decided.

I suppose even if we had a system to change screen names every 6 months or whatever, people could still request to get theirs changed if they felt the need.

I dunno, to me it just seems like everyone's trying to be really selfish about this. That it's going to be such an inconvenience to them because it's going to be confusing if people change their names.

Personally I've never changed my name, but I don't care if it takes me a few days to figure out exactly who someone is after they've changed their name.

I say it should be their choice to do so, at least with having it controlled this time, it won't be crazy where someone will change their name every day/week/month.

but it was like that, and that's why it was put to a vote in the first place

That doesn't make people any less selfish or whiney about the whole thing.

and I'm not saying you specifically Rob. I just don't see the need to vote on it or even discuss other options... I just don't think it's a big inconvenience or setback to let people change their names twice a year if they choose to do so.

it's not all about selfishness, it's about thinking of the cm as a whole. at least it is for me.

i do agree that people should have the freedom to change their usernames if they really want, though.
