Let me start by saying that I commend Raine for stepping up and writting an article about his support of OWS. He presents his support in a clear and concise manor, leaving no doubt that he believes what he preaches about. He's been to one or more of the protests and even involves his children. He's 100% behind this movement and therein lies the problem.
In doing so he has no choice but to support the good and the bad that come from the movement. Might he one day be able to look at the world and see it much closer to how he envisions it should be due to this movement and say 'I was a part of that'.
Sure...without a doubt he'd have that right. But along with that goes the responsibilty of owning all the bad that comes from it as well. I'm sure he has considered this and is more than willing to own up to that reality too.
So far there are reports of rape, theft, sexual assault, drug abuse, selling of illegal drugs not to mention how it has adversly affected families and small businesses in the close proximity to the protests. For the most part, things seem to going in the wrong direction as far as crime and lawlessness and even the mainstream, left wing media seems to be backing away from it's support of the movement.
Raine, like Obama, has thrown himself behind the cause, seemingly at all costs. Both may suffer from this decision in the long run; Raine in record sales, Obama in votes. Time will tell.
By the way, Wall Street is more profitable now than when Obama took office.
