Anyone watching the winter olympic games? No threads talking about it so far, funny cause I'm in Brazil watching it, and seems like you Canadians are not excited about it :P

Currently watching free style skiing which might give Canada their first gold medal won in Canadian territory.

I watched some of the opening ceremonies, and I feel like I should care out of some sort of patriotism or something, but I find it really hard to get excited about sports.
The Cultural Olympiad, on the other hand--damn would I like to be in that city this month. Soo many fantastic shows and performers from all over the country. My boyfriend is flying up at the end of the week with the local circus show, and there's a couple of other acts from town taking part that I know are fantastic. Wish I could be there!

i never excited about sports either, so i'm surprised at myself for being so excited this time. i blame it on a long-dormant sense of patriotism.

another very close silver medal won today in snowboarding, and the canadian women's hockey team won again in prelims, against switzerland 10-1

I'm watching, that's why I haven't been posting! There is someone I know in the Speed Skating which I'm watching right now. Looks like all medals are going to Korea/Japan - oh well, I'm still feeling very good about actually knowing who someone is in the Olympics!

So many good writers are boycotting, because BC's proposing to cut arts funding by 90%. They feel that if the government isn't interested in supporting the artists, the artists should not support the government's attempts to market the country.

The Olympics stress me out!! I'm sure my stress made that Canadian Ski Cross guy fall on the last jump!

And the Canadian Men's Hockey better pull up their panties when they play Russia! (Cause i'm pretty sure they'll beat Germany)

Everytime I get home from work all I do is pretty much watch the olympics. Since we don't get any hockey here in brazillian televison it's been awsome to actually be able to see such amazing awesome games live.

Can't miss Canada vs USA tomorrow... it'll be amazing. Plus Slovaki and Finland was a very fun game to watch earlier today.

Hockey is growing more and more on me. I've been a fan for years since I stared playing EA's NHL games back in the good old Genesis era. Too bad we don't get any NHL through our tv channels here. Sometimes I catch some games online when they're streamed live.

I'll be supporting and cheering for Canada tomorrow :)
