the politics of cliques. - a long rant by Reno

Days keep on going by, and I keep on getting more and more angry. I wish for the days when I didn?t give a shit about politics, but I?m so entrenched in it that I continually want more and more. One thing that I?ve seen in my so called political research is the ascension of clicks. I?m sure most of us are familiar with high school and the hierarchy in your particular institution. You know we leave high school under the impression that those days of belonging to a click are over. Well ladies and gentlemen it?s not.

If you think about it, there are three groups of people in politics today, and two of them are relevant. That?s right, the band nerds, treckies, and the hippies of politics don?t even matter in the real world, just like high school. But the democrats and the republicans are the ones of ?relevance?.

If you look at both parties, you can see a ?with us or against us? mentality. It?s quite humorous how a click of dems or republicans ostracize one of their own when it comes to a vote and one of them decided to not conform to the parties objective. Even more humorous is the way a few of these old men change parties, and the reaction from the clicks affected. Wow, god fucking forbid you have an original thought in your head. Heaven forbid you go against the click. Instead of clicks we need free thinkers. We need pragmatists that see an issue and do what?s best for the people and not for the click. Politicians have major conflicts of interest today because they have the clicks objective to tend to as well as those who fund their campaigns. So lets get rid of them. Instead of two puppets from two clicks, lets get several nominees that are so finely calibrated that we have a choice.

It?s just not natural to join into a click and accept everyone of their rules and objectives as yours. People are naturally free thinkers, people often hunger for knowledge so that they can make up their own minds. It?s plainly clear of this because many Americans look to the TV?s and the newspapers and soak up that information and regurgitate it like it was actual bonafide truth. It?s not that were too stupid to actually sift through the propaganda and the bias of writers; it?s just that we thirst for knowledge. Someone please show me one news source that?s not bias? I?d like to hear a speech from a president that?s not bias, that doesn?t omit a few truths in his speeches. When you?re fed lies, all you will know are lies. If the masses were given the tools to see what the real motive to certain issues were, you will see revolution from the people. What are the odds of that happening when all we know are lies? What makes you think Al gore or John Kerry wouldn?t lie? They?re part of their own click, and they don?t cater to the constituents, they cater to their click?s objectives and the people who pour money into their campaigns. It might make you happy because you might happen to have some of those same concerns over those same issues. But your never completely happy with your click, because as a free thinker, you don?t conform to what party lines tell you. And if you do, your just a sorry excuse of a human being. The winner of any two party election is not the best man for the job, but rather the person who?s got the most backers in his or her click.

How does one become indoctrinated and brain washed into joining a click? Many times it?s family history. Grandpa was a republican, and so was dad, so I?m gonna be one too. You?ve got people on college campuses looking for students to suck souls out of. La rouche?s PAC (Political Action Committee) is just one of these examples. I couldn?t help but get into it with a few La Rouche backers on my way to class at U of H. One girl went on and on about squaring the square. I let her babble for about 20 minutes about nothing relevant in terms of politics and just asked her why she was here. Her answer is of course change. It seems like anyone that is out and about protesting their hearts out and being active in politics wants change. Yet none of them actually incite change do they? What did the 60?s prove to us? That protesting makes a difference? That activism is a way of bringing needed change? What it has shown me is that the angry youth can be inebriated with toxins and drugs that they either won?t fight for change correctly, or will abuse the drugs so much, they won?t want change at all. In the end the angry youth will grow up and either assimilate to corruption, be in jail because of drugs, or be dead because of drugs. On c-span2 today they showed the anti-inauguration protesters. A.N.S.W.E.R.S. or whoever the hell it was paraded speaker after speaker up to a podium and let them make asses of themselves to a group of a couple of hundred, maybe a few thousand activists. Not a single one of them made a speech that moved me. Not a single one called for action. They yelled, and bitched, and complained. What does that do? Complaining about the secret service not providing you a heated tent is the least of your problems. For god?s sake there are many historical revolutions that had it much worse then standing in the cold 2 days straight.

I?m not here to discourage you from political action. I?m not here to tell you to stop caring or that your voice isn?t being heard. I?m here to tell you if you want a political revolution, like those dumb asses from A.N.S.W.E.R.S. are calling for, you?re going to have to work for it. Stop bitching about tents and run for office in your town, city, district.

The only threat from the two clicks in charge right now is the lack of power. The only ones that threaten today?s click in power is the other click. These days the republican click seems to be a little stronger then the democrat click. Democrats today suffer from what the people at A.N.S.W.E.R.S. suffer from, bitching, moaning and complaining. There?s not enough action in that click. They are ripe for the picking. Take power from the democrat click and make it your own. Run for office and unlike those who put a blind eye to protesters, listen to the people demonstrating. Be their legislator, be the person who listens to the angry youth. Everyone in this country was taught in school how government works. The problem right now is that government isn?t working that way right now. Corporations and lobbyist groups are polluting our representatives and congressmen and women. They?re all under the impression that money wins elections. That?s not true. Votes win elections. Let the people be educated, give them your references and the truths about the issues and they will soak it up. Once their informed they?ll stand by you and lend you their office. It?s our office it doesn?t belong to a click. It?s not a means to get rich with lawyer money or doctors money. It?s a means to incite a change that is needed.

I think you mean "clique," which means group. I thought this was about internet ad revenues when I clicked (GEDDIT!?) the link.

The sad truth is most people don't care about anything about the world around them. This is why Bush is still in office, this is why our government doesn't work, it's because for a democracy to work the people must be informed and passionate......the people are ignorant and apathetic. It kills a little of me everytime i see the world turn as blind eye, or not even notice at all when governments and politicians bumble through their jobs, lying, and cheating.

I'm never going to be an anarchist, or Communist, but i can tell you that Democracy is no longer working, we just don't have other options.

Our world is truly a sad, dark, and dangerous place. As we grow old we come to realize this, or we become something even worse, we become ignorant. It's a lose-lose, ussually the talented/informed and intelligent are tortured by what they understand of the word around them, it's a heavy burden, and ignorance is truly bliss. So our society medicates itself to bliss with denial, apathy, and lies. There's so much wrong in the world around us that our fragile minds can't cope, and we either end up apathtic or get so wrapped up in our causes that we no longer see a clear picture. All we can do is take happiness from the small things in our life, live it morally, and try to leavethe world a better place then when we came into it.
