Think about. Sure, it seems fun now. Oh, robots playing soccer! How neat! Artificial Intelligence is just peachy.

Wrong. Think of the soccer ball. Don't worry, I'm not going to start a rant about the ball's feelings; it's an inanimate object, stupid. However, what does one do with a soccer ball?

That's right. One kicks it. These robots are going to be able to kick. Hard. Not only that, but the AI tells them WHEN to kick. Hard.

We're in trouble, kids. And it's obvious who must be called upon to save the world.

So while you guys do that, I'm gonna go watch TV ^_^

EDIT: I just reread the article. These little bastards can recognize an opponent and shield themselves from him/her, too!! And if anime has taught me anything, it's that when a robot shields itself, it looks really freaking badass.

I must say, the thought of human-sized robots playing soccer scares the crap outta me.

*goes out to find industrial strength shin guards for when this day finally comes*

You'll be old(er) by then... the weight of the shin guards will probably hurt you as much as any robot :p

Don't feel so bad about 68. An online test told me that's how old I'll be when I die. And if you can't trust online tests, what can you trust?

After reading that I got thinking.

And I don't know which would be cooler...

Really really small robots playing soccer.

Or really really HUGE robots playing soccer.

Either way, I must start controlling them so I may commence my world domination.
