First of all, some backround to my delimma.

Back in the eleventh grade, I was a loney guy. Lonely because I had to go to a new school for my high school years. Anyways, I met a new friend in that grade and we became friends. And in no time at all we became very good friends. We remain good friends through the rest of high school and in the years past high school.

That is until last year...

He lives in the city of Edmonton will I live in a small town which is about an hours drive from the city's core, which is where he lives. For the most of last year he would always want me to come in and I always went. Now heres where it goes downhill, the guy would never come out to my house.
He makes excuses that he doesnt have the time and he cant afford it. Which is a crock of shit because he has a good job. And the thing that gets me is that he rented a car a few times this year to go visit friends down in calgary, go on a trip to jasper and to go and see his mom and dad. His parents lives 15 minutes away from me and he had to drive past my twon to get there. Hell, I invited him and his sister our to my house for a christmas drink. They never show'd up. He just doesnt make an active attempt to come and see his best frend.

And theres other things...

HE doesnt invited me out when he and his mates go out to a pub or have get togethers. I told him many a time to call me up and I told him that I would come out. But he doesnt and most of the time, I never know when there is a get together with friends. I'd like to call em my friends, but I just don't know them well enough. But thats not the point, they have get togethers all time and he doesnt call me up to come out. Thats really bugging me.

Whenever I come into the city, he always wants me to drive him somewhere. Its like I'm his taxi when I'm in town and the thing is that I don't like driving all the time. And when I say no, he starts to whine. He whines like a little boy.

and....

I feel that I'm only his friend when his other best friends arent in town. When those friends of his arent in the city, he calls me up. But when they're there, I get nothing. Hell, I didnt even get a call from him telling me to have a merry christmas and happy new years. ::/


So what would you do if you where in my situation? Would you go and see your best friend? Or would you do what he is doing?

What do I do about our "friendship"?

Well If I was you, I would go out and visit your friend. While I was out there though, I'd ask him why he never calls or invites you out places. If he tries to give you one of his bullshit excuses, tell him that it's bullshit and you would like the truth from him. You really have to sit down and see where your friendship stands with him. Basically sit down with him and talk it out see whats up. Acting like a child too isn't going to solve anything, so you need to make the first move and talk it out with him.

ya just be honest with him. At least then you'll know whether all this energy you've put into it has ben worth it or not.

I've already told you what I think a million times Johnny.

tell him that you know people who know people and that i'll kill him if he doesn't smarten up.
