let's activate our retrospective gaze, kids: what has the past year brought you? or, rather, what have you wrangled out of its unwilling arms?

me, i grew up.

plus i got a sweet mini remote-control monster truck.

so sweet.

I... I guess I became more political. Lot of good it did, though... I liked it better when elections went by and didn't depress the heck outta me. :uh:

I decided what I want to do with my life. Other than that, this year blew harder than monica lewinsky.

Hmmm ....

I got some sexy new scars. Though the newest one is decidedly non-sexy at the moment :(

I made some amazing new friends, and learnt that I had some very wonderful friends amongst the people that I was only moderately friendly with before.

I got closer to some of the friends I had, moved up into the senior part of the choir I was already in (which means I'm going to argentina in 05!), and discovered some new bands (discovered meaning started listening to them)

I made a few new friends and found friends in those I knew before but never thought would be friendly with me. Other than that this year sucked ass.

This year was pretty good for me.
I think I grew up a bit. Self-realization and all that jazz.

Though it was crappy in other ways.
Like when you change and think everything is for the better, but no one else and nothing around you changes and you have to live with a large pile of unwanted bullshit in your life.
But at least now I know its bullshit and don't care about it anymore. :D

And I had a really good christmas which is like a first.
Mainly because of my MP3 player.

I realized that you probably won't get what you want, so get what you can.

I realized that the vast majority of the world is unhappy.

I realized that I actually do like my religion and need it.

I realized that nobody's perfect. Including your adult family members that you probably thought were perfect and had vast amounts of knowledge and wisdom.

Basically, I just grew up a lot.

Years of busting my ass finally paid off at work. I moved from my comfort zone not once but twice. I learned that I need to be more understanding of the religious and political beliefs that have drawn a line between myself and others in the past. I got myself a shiny new truck, some awesome new friends, a store that I'm still not satisfied working in, lots of great new music, lots of bootlegs, and lots of good memories that make up for all the bad ones. I met Susie, Bethany, Rob, Dave, Sabby, Jonathon, and Christine in person for the first time and they are all really awesome people I'm glad to call real life friends now.

i've learned a lot this year. a lot about myself and about life. i've learned to be a lot more happier and grateful for what i have. i've learned that i have it way better than most people and sure a lot of shit has happened but it has made me a better person. i've learned to not take for granteed everything i have and everyone in my life. i've lost people i cared very much about, inparticularly someone who was like my little brother and i miss him a lot, but i take comfort in knowing that he's always there when i need him.

I learned that if you want something, you really have to go for it. I learned that its best to just deal with your issues, and not lock them away, because they'll most certainly come back to bite you in the ass later. I learned that some people just dont deserve your time. I learned that being a bitch to someone because you and them dont agree, wont change anything.

Mostly i'm still as neurotic and slap happy as last year though :D , just a smidge more mature.

i moved from saskatoon to st. john's, and left all my friends behind. took a heavy course load in the fall semester of university and did reasonably well. would kill to go back to saskatoon but i don't find much use for complaining or being unhappy.

emotionally, i probably became a little more stable. did a little bit of that inevitable growing up. also learned to trust my own personal morals and follow them
