So lately I've been fiddling a bit with photoshop. I'm just getting the hang of it and try out various things... Here are a few of the pictures I've come up with...

Let me know what you guys think...

sorry about the size... They seem to fit okay on my screen but if they're toob big let me know and I can shrink them a bit.

thanks guys. The one at the top was the first one I'd ever done. Followeed by the one at the very bottom. The one at the bottom looks really nice as a background. Actually my background right now is the picture with 1930's yonge st on top of a meadow.

Insert the word "larger" in there somewhere and I'd agree with you.

The original size of the last one is about 1200X800 I believe. It was shrunk by photobucket cause of the file size.

ooo that first one is really neat, i love the way the texture of the cloud clashes with the rest of it.

Quite a crazy start Jim. As long as everything you throw in has a purpose and just isnt there simply because "its so freaking cool that I can do this," then i'm all for it.

I like the last one with the boy againts the fence. Reminds me a little bit of some of the SM art for some reason.

The only one on there that didn't start with a purpose was the second one from the top that looks like an eye (the purple/black/white one in my first post). It came about from trial and error. The others all had a goal in mind with a bit of trial and error only because I'm still trying to get the hang of knowing which things do what I want.

It's definitely something i want to continue working at, and I'm hoping one day it'll get good enough where I'll want to display it in my house.

Yeesh, thats quite the undertaking. Dude you should try out vectoring. Its by far the most satisfying type of art I've ever done using photoshop. Plus its a lot easier than it looks. I'd go as far as to say anyone can do it with enough patience and end up with fantasic looking results.

What's vectoring if I might ask?

Here is a bit of my vector work. Its the most recent one I've done. The first picture is when it was a work in progress. The last is the final deal. I've touched it up since then but its vectoring nonetheless.

I honestly have no clue how I would even do that, Are there any websites or anything like that that you could point me in the direction to? Cause I'm having trouble even figuring out where one starts.

Hmm the best tutorial I've seen went missing... bummer.

I guess this one is ok though.

alright cool, thanks!
What I'm finding I'm enjoying is just creating my own stuff. I think the vectoring looks amazing, and I'm gonna try some out over the weekend, but I really don't have many creative outlets (I can't draw or play music really, and I can never stay focused enough of writing) so I'm finding that photoshop is quick, and seems to satisfy my creative bursts.
