don't know, this really hasn't been a great year. although the few that have come out have been absolutely amazing:
the faint - wet from birth
morrissey - you are the quarry
green day - american idiot
next year though, it'll be all about the new 'new order' stuff.

Matthew Good - White Light Rock and Roll review

I though Mirah's C'mon Miracle was pretty disappointing. I just discovered her this year, but I thought Advisory Committee was a much better record.
Jimmy Eat World - Futures
Autolux - Future Perfect
Straylight Run - Straylight Run
Lovedrug - Pretend You're Alive
Manic Street Preachers - Lifeblood
Ash - Meltdown
The Music - Welcome to the North
Hatherley, Charlotte - Grey Will Fade
Jackson United - Western Ballads
theSTART - Initiaton
Dogs Die In Hot Cars - Please Describe Yourself
Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News
Velvet Revolver - Contraband
Perfect Circle, A - eMOTIVe
Incubus - A Crow Left of the Murder
Elliott Smith - From a Basement on the Hill
Honorable mentions:
Arcade Fire - Funeral (I've only listened to it twice. The first time I didn't care for it, but I really liked it the second time. I would expect it to shoot up a number of spaces after a few more listens)
William Shatner - Has Been
Interpol - Antics
And probably some I'm forgetting. It has been a good year for music, but nothing's really astounded me as in years past. 2005 is going to rock my socks though.

I think Green Day might be the only album I found worth buying that came out this year.
Regardless, even if there was a ton of other stuff that came out, it'd probably still be at the top of my list.
