Personally I could care less. Ignorance is bliss, and when you're making tons of money spouting off that ignorance, you don't want to make a sound argument that ends up losing viewers.

Am I the only one to have watched "Talking to Americans" on CBC? Its all explained there.

There is an incredible amount of ignorance towards Canada in the US(They just use our hydro and build houses with our forests ). I doubt even the most perfect argument against it, or her will change anything.

umm... I wouldn't call Talking to Americans the greatest example of American stupidity... I mean those were just a few clips, and for all we know Rick Mercer talked to hundreds of people before he could get some worthy clips... I'm sure if you did the same thing with Canadians, you could eventually wind up with a 30 minute episode.

Probably. But somehow i think you spend a lot longer finding people ignorant to American culture in Canada then vice-versa

Who's generalizing American's? I understand that you and many other people do not think that way. Even if someone in the thread was trashing American's as a whole it would still be referring to the majority of American's. Not the good natured, healthy thinking minority such as yourself. I love American's, just not the majority of them.

Nikki has a point though. Although she is in the minority of her country, it doesnt make her any less american than those ignorant people who made the comments. It only makes her intelligent.

When people make broad negative statements about "Americans", and you happen to fall under that description, it's hard to not take it as an insult.
