Hello :D

OK, I was wondering if any of you can tell me anything about a few places in American and Canada. Basically, I am doing a semester abroad next year and need to make 3 choices of places to go. I have two and the final one will be in Noth America somewhere...I just need to decide where.

I was thinking if any of you live in/near these places you could tell me a little about them - or even better if you happen to study there!

The Unis I can go to in Canada are:
University of Ottawa
Concordia - (in Montreal)
Memorial University of Newfoundland
University of Toronto

The ones in the USA are
Willamette (in Salem, Oregon)
Bowling Green State

There are more but I've lost my whole list and figure no-one would sift through the whole list: let's face it im being pretty cheeky anyway :D

Come to Canada and study at the University of Toronto. It's a very well known school. Also Toronto rocks.

thanks for the help Rusty, I'm sure it helped her a lot.

I think basically it comes down to what type of experience you want. Every school has it's pros and cons.

I don't know what you're studying, or what you're looking for in a school, but I'm going to plug my own school, Trent University in Peterborough Ontario. It's a little over an hour or so from Toronto, and is the best primarily undergraduate university in Ontario (according to the annual Macleans magazine rankings). It is one of the smallest schools in Canada having around 5,000 students, but that allows for very small class sizes, and you become more than just a student with your profs.

Might I add, that the school is built around hundreds of acres of wildlife/environmentally protected areas, which is something you could never find at a school like Toronto.

We also have the largest foreign student population per capita in Canada (if it isn't Canada it is at least in Ontario) so there are a lot of students who would be going through the same thing as you would be.

Ya that's enough of a plug, Other people here can tell you about U of T more than I really could. Toronto is a great city too, but offers a completely opposite lifestyle than what you would find where I go. I love Toronto, and think that its multiculturalism, its museums, and arts scene, and just its overall feel is great. I plan on living there after graduating.

I doubt this helped much since it had not much to do with the schools you mentionned... sorry!

Here's an idea Jim, take that stick out of your ass, loosen up a little and stop taking every god damn shot you can at me. My post was just as usefull as Yannic's was, I don't see you saying anything to her, and you didn't even bother mentioning a school that was mentioned in the original post. So therefore your post was just as much bullshit as mine, except you took up even more space and used a bunch of pretty words to make yourself look smart and intelligent. So how about you shut the fuck up and leave me alone.
