Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is my favourite movie of all time. I'm so worried that this movie will be ruined because of the remake...

I am worried that the movie will suck. however, i am certain johnny depp playing that role will be awesome. i have yet to see a johnny depp character suck.

ya but I'm worried Tim Burton will make it too dark, or there will be all these special effects. The original film used strings to create its effects. I'm just worried there will be too much Hollywood.

it sure is going to be dark with good special effects.....thats what makes it good. this is going to be closer to the book....

But why redo a classic? There were no flaws in the original. You can't possibly make a better version. It's like making a remake of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. because of that I'm not going to see this film when it comes out.

It's being called "Charlie" because the book was called Charlie. The reason they changed the title from Charlie to Willy Wonka for the original was because the movie was supposed to be one big advertisement for "Willy Wonka" Chocolate bars. They had planned this huge massive ploy for these chocolate bars that were gonna sell like mad thanks to the movie, but they had one problem: The chocolate kept melting in the stores before anyone could eat it.
So what happened was the movie was released and the chocolate was taken off the shelves never to be sold again. The original bars looked like the ones in the movie. Now of course, you can buy Wonka stuff in candy stores but I've only ever seen one actual Wonka chocolate bar, but more common are the "everlasting" gobstoppers.

they came out with Wonka bars about two years ago they were chocolate and graham cracker

Am I the only one who hates the original movie? It creeps me out... and not in a good way.
