18A only means that you need someone above the age of 18 to be with you. You don't necessarily need to be 18.

it got crappy reviews from chart magazine:
"Stilted, puerile writing marks Saw for the crap pile"
"With unintentionally campy flashbacks (“Now I remember how I got here”), hilarious emotional outbursts (“My family neeeeeeds me!”) and just plain stupidity, Saw has the appearance of wanting to be intelligent, but falling short"
"Imagine you came up with a reasonable interesting plotline. You started writing it. But whenever you had to fill in dialogue, you snagged some 12-year-old kid off the street and told him to fill in the blanks."
"Cliché, awkward and completely bad, bad, bad."
"In fact, despite Saw’s last 30 seconds (which are unexpectedly kind of interesting), the movie moves into this weird campy emotional outburst between the two main characters. The next thing you know, the audience is howling and laughing hysterically. Now, perhaps the film is reaching its stride as being a sort of self-reflexive parody, but Saw truly gives the impression of taking itself seriously.
All said, the film is a sad disappointment for those expecting some creepy-ass psycho thriller.
The good news is, it’s the best laugh I’ve had in ages."

the only thing that does is prove that reviews = absolutely nothing.
oh man, seeing this thread reminded me that i have to see this again. now i want to see it with people who haven't seen it, no i'm not one of those people who tells them what happens, but it's so much fun to see peoples reactions to moves that you love.

Some people found it funny when I went...and they just pissed me off.
I can't see anything funny about searching through someone's stomach to find a key.
That is one twisted sense of humor.

from the review i think they meant they laughed at it because it was such a bad movie .. i dunno, i haven't seen it.

i mean, some of the acting was super campy, but it most definitely did not ruin the movie.
and oh my goodness, i was thinking about what i would do in that situation (with the key in the stomache) and i was like, freaking out over it.

i think that the acting wasn't that bad considering they were supposed to freak out and be all convulsive-y. its a hard way to act, id say.

The acting was bad. But you're supposed to expect that in a movie that was made for only 1 million dollars. I mean Danny Glover's pay would usually be higher than that alone.
As for the people laughing, there were people laughing in our theatre too, but at the cheesy acting at some parts.
The reason people laughed at her cutting through the guys stomach, is because she has a surgical scalpel, but what does she do? She doesn't make one big incision, instead she stabs him like millions of times in different places... Which didn't make a whole lot of sense. It wasn't really funny, but more like WTF!? Which I think the people reacted to, because it was obviously gross.
Also, this movie really isn't that gory. It had like 2-3 actual gory parts. The other parts were implied. It just plays on what you'd find gross for most parts and lets you picture what happened.

hee hee hee (giggling like a school girl, or a school boy in a school girl's uniform)
I replied to a fictional person!! Wait a second... How can someone who's not real, see a movie!?!? :O I'm scared! Hold me closer Ned, it's gettin' dark.
It's like Artificial Intelligence and maybe even my stuffed animals (Smurfs and Carebears mostly... Oh yeah and Garfield) Can all see movies too now!!! I'd pee my pantalons if I was sitting next to a Tickle Me Elmo in a movie theatre!

Maybe saying "poop" intead of "pee" would have been more appropriate.
