A Perfect Circle's new album and single

So their new album eMOTIVe will be out on the american presidential election day, November 2.
I just received an email yesterday with their new single from the album. The song is.......... well...... a cover song some of you might have heard before. A little song called IMAGINE by John Lennon.
Let me say, since the quality, Real and Windows Media, are the only two streaming formats I could hear it in, I was a little disapointed on first listen. However, once I ignored the quality flaws, I loved it and I can't wait to see what this new album about, WAR, PEACE, GREED and whatever else they mentioned is going to be like.

You can find a good quality mp3 of Imagine on Limewire. I had like 200 results of a 192 kbps file.
Excellently excellent. It gets quite stupendous right at "You may say I'm a dreamer."

Seriously, though. If John Lennon had a grave, he'd be rolling in it. That song is NOT supposed to be dark and brooding.

I'm in the middle. Its definetely an interesting take on the song but I think it strays a little to far than it should have.

Admittedly, it is pretty... different than the original. But, it is still pretty cool, though.
I'm not even too massive a Maynard fan, so I'm taking it from a pretty unbiased standpoint.

I just heard it and I rather like it. Maynard has an amazing voice.
I'm not sure if they should've released it as a single though.

Come on, it's not that dark. It has violins! and not eerie ones!
Actually, it doesn't stray at all from the message the original is trying to present. It just relays it differently to how the band sees all the events that have happened with the war and all the negative worldwide events.
I don't think it should have been a single, being a cover, so I agree with you there. But the band has a unique perspective and unique way of presenting their standpoints. That's what this album is going to be about.
