Canadian music has been doing well for itself recently. Honestly, nothing can touch the group of Broken Social Scene, The Arcade Fire, and The Unicorns. Nothing.

Canadian music is pushing the standard boundaries of pop music and doing insane things with them. Broken Social Scene and The Unicorns will be the future of amazing music. Tandem vocals, lots of intricate sounds, and the pop song structure being followed, yet broken down at the same time, well, it will be huge.

Melodicas rule. (Both BSS and The Unicorns use them.)

It really is a shame more people don't know more about them. I was introduced to them, by all people my English teacher and You Forgot it in People hasn't spent more than a few days out of my CD player.

I see them play at Olympic Island over the summer. They sounded good. The singer for them is playing in my town this weekend actually... I won't be here to go though.

the members of the band seem to be goign off in their seperate directions and doing solo projects. but we should expect a new album sometime this year...at least thats what i heard on the edge

Isn't it the other way around? BSS is actually a project involving members of different bands essentially making it a side-project?

by the way... i think the people in the car-footage (including the zebra man ) are probably from the Most Serene Republic (on same label as bss). they clearly aren't in Broken Social Scene, but i recognize them from when i saw them live.

BSS make a lot of appearances in eachother's videos and other musicians who are associated with them.

Ex.
Emily Haines in K-OS's "Man I Used To Be", plus the Feist poster in K-OS's room. And then K-OS was in Death From Above's 'Black History Month", DFA have joined BSS on stage a few times.

They're great though, not t o mention every person in the band has great bands of there own.

did anyone see them play Shoreline on Conan? great! Emily and Fiest were both on stage at the same time dancing together and stuff it was awesome. Then at the end Conan's like "you guys need more guitars "

Both Kevin Drew and Emily Haines are guesting on the new the Stills album, too.
