Oil thigh na Banrighinn a'Banrighinn gu brath!
Oil thigh na Banrighinn a'Banrighinn gu brath!
Oil thigh na Banrighinn a'Banrighinn gu brath!
Cha-Gheill! Cha-Gheill! Cha-Gheill!

Queen's College colours we are wearing once again,
Soiled as they are by the battle and the rain,
Yet another victory to wipe away the stain,
So, Gaels go in and win!

Oil thigh na Banrighinn a'Banrighinn gu brath!
Oil thigh na Banrighinn a'Banrighinn gu brath!
Oil thigh na Banrighinn a'Banrighinn gu brath!
Cha-Gheill! Cha-Gheill! Cha-Gheill!

What's the sport of Kings?
Queen's! Queen's! Queen's!
Oil thigh na Banrighinn Cha-Gheill, Cha-Gheill, Cha-Gheill!
Oil thigh na Banrighinn Cha-Gheill, Cha-Gheill, Cha-Gheill!
Yay Queen´s!

Gav, answer me this... Why is it that whenever I ask someone what they're taking at Queen's, the answer is inevitably Engineering? Yeesh. Freaky purple people.

Anyways, I'm taking Psychology. I spent the day today on campus doing the FYNIRS (First Year Not In Residence Students) orientation, so I probably passed you and your rez group without even knowing it. I was one of those loud people in yellow shirts. :P

 Such a great impression Queen's seems to have made on the academic community.

Kinda explains our cheer though.

Meh. I'm still getting a good education, and I'm paying less than half what you are.

Off Campus > Rez

Res is all about the experience. You will never in your life be able to duplicate having 40 people the same age as you living in one environment. I think it is something everyone should experience.

My sister said res was the greatest thing in the world.

Except that I can hang around my friends' rez all I want, and still be able to get away from all the activity and have some productivity/privacy.

You would be suprised just how much privacy and productivity you can have in res. It's about finding a balance. Trust me, you can hang out with your friends in res all you want but unless you're there night and day, it really isn't the same.

Yeah, I'm a very independant person. I wouldn't want to be in rez. Besides my house is like right next to campus, so why would I want to get rid of that.

Besides, my cousins have told me horror stories about how the MUN rez doors swing inside. So people would fill up trash cans with water and lean them against the door. Then the next time someone would open it from inside the water would flood them. And the nasty rank carpets that have been there forever would stink like nobodys business.

This whole "experience" thing is complete BS. Sure, it's an "experience". Just not a very good one. The fun is good while it lasts, but as soon as exam time comes around, everyone is stressed and freaking out and pissed off at everyone else for making too much noise, etc.

Besides, you can talk about your experiences all you want when I'm out of university with zero debt and a full bank acount and you're still working off your tuition. :P

meh. Just my opinion, and from what I experienced last year. Everything that you described never really happened in my res. No big deal though, I guess each has its perks, and to each their own.

I have been on both sides of the track and I can definitely say that res (not campus though, ew) > than home. I love home, I love my privacy and all that. But this is like the coolest thing ever. Yes, I have had my stresses with my roommates thus far and I'm sure it will only get worse, I love it. Besides, using debt as an excuse is stupid. If you have a car, then you are in more debt than me. Education, cars, and homes are worth it.
